Four of the better trailers coming out of E3.

The games may end up sucking, but they are pretty. Watch in the highest res your connection can handle.

Well I Haven't seen the Xbox game servers un-moderated... This may not come to some of you as a surprise but I have been banned a few times on a few different games... I am lucky none of them where perma bans :P. Also I modded my gamer score, that got reset as a warning. Also it's not illegal to mod any console, to use a modded console on the company's server that made the console could be against their ToS, but the most that will happen is you will get banned or something. Also when you pay for online, you are paying for the bandwidth and hard drive space on there server that your matches and online records take up, you are also paying for that hardware, power used for the server, maintenance on the server, security (*CO* PSN LOL *UGH*), pretty much anything the server cost. And some servers on Xbox live are not owned my Microsoft, Final Fantasy (I think that's what it is called? It's some MMO that's on a space station and there is robots, furries..., human and elves, the game design is very Asian inspired, someone here might know the name) Use's it's own server.

The reason why you don't pay for games like halo is because the only server owned by a company is the one that shows you all of the other games hosted by other people, witch are cheap, everything else is done by your internet, and that has flaws like lag and if your Canadian like me there is a good chance you have a bandwidth cap because the ISP's in Canada want all of your money for not 0 internets :(.

But back on topic, my opinions of this years E3

HALO 4!!!
HALO ANNIVERSARY!!!

I have always liked the Halo story line :).

Gears of War 3!
Kinect things! (I like Kinect Fun Labs :))
TV ON XBOX!
YOUTUBE ON XBOX!
GRAW Gun Smith!
and... I'm not a fan of sony but the NGP looks like it has some sweet hardware. And I'm also not a fan of Nintendo but the LoZ:OoT on the NDS is cool :).

Those are the things I liked this E3.

These are the things I didn't like.

Sony being late, and there NGP 3G version (My opinion, you do not need to always be online, I know it's an option but still meh)

Nintendo's silly Wii U -.- it reminds me of the old spice commercials, "look down, now up, look back down again, your controllers is now giving you a prompt, look back again, you are now dead, you could have stayed alive but you looked down and read the prompt... get the point?) Also it looks way to small to fit any good hardware in it, and in an apartment with a lot of WiFi, they can create interference with the controllers Bluetooth creating lag ,WiFi and Bluetooth have been known to cause problems (I'm not sure about the Bluetooth, I just read it somewhere, don't take my word about the controller if it does use Bluetooth, if it does then WiFi could be a problem). The console maybe 1080p, I can make an un-textured cube and display it in 1080p, it does not mean the graphics are good, it just means the resolution is high (In my opinion being 780p with more colliding particles, higher poly count and more things on the screen is better then 1080p and having less of those other things.

And this is where PS3 wins. Had that out of the box on my phat when it came out.

Anyway, what I'm REALLY looking forward to is Uncharted 3. It's a great series, but yes, exclusive to PS3.

PS3 did live TV, things like local news channels? I know it had TV show, Xbox has always had TV shows to, im talking about channels they are getting, and it's live.

ah well then I believe PS3 is just getting that. But they've had youtube/netflix for some time.

I dunno if I'd wanna watch live tv on the ps3. what would be the point? Couldn't I just watch that on TV?
(this being said by someone who doesn't subscribe to tv at all)

Well for some family's like mine, cutting down on TV packages will help in these times. Just keep TV down the minimum and everything else you could get through the Xbox, I think it would be a great money saver.

Sorry to tell you, Dat, but XBox Live was cracked into in 2007, and the aftermath was worse than the recent PSN attacks. Account details were stolen and weren't encrypted very well, meaning lots of people lost a lot of money.

I'd also be very quick to say that both PS3 and PC are vastly superior to the 360. I've used both consoles sporadically, and everybody I know who has stopped using the 360 then started using the PS3. And never looked back. I don't know anybody who's gone from PS3 to 360 and not regretted it.

The only reasons the 360 sells better are Microsoft being very good at marketing, and all the fanboys.

Couple of questions:
Halo 4?
Bungie left, so who took it over?
Gotta research that.

Some things xbox live has over PC though:

First of all, its software (xbox games in general) is a tough cookie to hack, not simply a case of copying discs which is enough for a lot of PC games. Its not impossible of course, but requires certain hardware to work, and cracked things will get you banned from live if you play online. For developers, its a god-send, it gives them almost completely un-piratable software, which is great for the industry as a whole.

Second, the microsoft-run servers are **** of course, but some games (gears 3 etc), will run on p2p if servers are shut down. servers arn't the biggest issue with it.

NO compatibility issues. While most gamers who use consoles are mind-numblingly stupid, its also very satisfying for me to be able to play a game at decent graphics settings without fussing around with compatibility, slow/badly maintained PC etc, and at a fraction of the cost of a PC.

Consoles have a lot of ground over PC's in some places. PC's are still the winner for me, but thats because im a modder. For a gamer, consoles are usually the best option.

Better hope a Sony rep doesn't visit this forum, or they'll sue your ass for all you're worth. ;)
Not gonna happen. Modding your PS3 isn't illegal in Canada.
Not illegal here, either, but it is technically a violation of the EULA, which is what they'd try to get you on.

Yeah, still not worried. Besides, I never play online, and haven't used PSN since hacking my PS3.

Are you kidding? My boss has seven hacked XBOXs that all play pirated games. Yeah I know. Seven. I laugh at him a lot for that.

I'm not especially trying to save money here.... I just can't find anything I'd ever want to watch on TV. Seriously.
I cancelled my cable because I was paying for only the basic HD packages and STILL never watching it.

343 Industries as the developer, Microsoft as the publisher.

my basic opinions of the games:

Halo 4 - freaking awesome looking, just wish it wouldnt come out in christmas of 2012
Gears of War 3 - omg those graphics look SEXY, cant wait for horde
Call of Duty: MW3 - oOo that storyline will be awesome...
Assassins Creed: Revelations - dang that game will be sick, awesome storyline of your past!
Star Wars: Kinect - looks like a fun game, looks perfect for 4 - 10 year olds

Mine;

Halo - Overrated, fairly generic shooter. Isn't there enough of it already?
Gears of War - First one was good, I'd prefer it if they weren't exclusives now. There's really no need for that.
CoD - Same game, repackaged with a new campaign.
Far Cry - Played the first two, enjoyed them. Should be worth it once it gets a sale on Steam.
Minecraft - Had it for months. Very fun, but feeds on your free time.
Dust514 - I almost want a PS3.

Video game snobbery is possibly the main reason for my dislike of CoD and Halo, though I did play both series in part and got very bored very fast. Both are the kind of game that is pretty ordinary, yet has those rediculous fanboys that make me want to punch them in the face.

i would have to largely agree with you on CoD, but not Halo. i have Halo: Combat Evolved (1) and even though the graphics arent the best, it is almost as addictive as battlezone. maybe thats because theres a lot of game modes or something (looks at GSH) and maybe it has its own way. of course there are enough Halos, but they are mostly gonna end right after Halo 4 comes out. its rumored that the Covenant will die
