Might have a crack at some unit/building textures when I get BZ reinstalled and start making things again.

If you do get to making textures for the units, think you could make some compatible ones for the LMM in the UEP? That's really all I use it for.. XD N1 did a pretty good job on how that program is set up for an alpha. They look far better than the default glow hues from the original textures. And textures for the Constructor and a couple other units, think the Scavs, could use 'em too.

Do you mean make texture packages for LMM, or upscale the texture packages (team-coloured glow-skins) already included?

Guess I should of been specific. But it was the new team-color glow skins I was talking about.

After an extended period of non interaction with most things bz2, I seem to have once again returned to working on the Hi res textures and have now done most of the (data pak) effect sprites, and terrain textures. This leaves me with the huge task of building and unit skins... Not sure I can cope with doing em all the really hard way. So I will be looking into ways to make things a bit easier.
Hq upscale helps a lot, but things like little lights and lettering on ships still come out looking blobulated. Am decorating the house at the same time so progress will be slow. Or am I just doing this to avoid the decorating? :lol:

Improving the unit skins would probably be best done by doing them all over again from scratch. I have managed to do some perfect ISDF skins before (specifically, blue ones, less so on the orange) using shape layers and basic gradient effects, so start there. Take a stock texture, blow it up, and start drawing shapes on top.

Yes, that's what I can't cope with doing, it takes too long and there are too many of them. Repairing the worst of the blobbiness after rescale is what I'm aiming for.

I can do the color bits quite fast, the issue is the grey parts. I ahve yet to come up with a series of colors, shapes, and textures that recreate that element of the texture.

Ok.. so Im being a bit creepy and digging up this long dead thread. :shock:
I am still slowly working on the hi res textures. But here's a little problem, one of the Pluto "desk" textures contains this piece

And just in case anyone else fancies a go at hi res textures, I have been doing all the boring ones...So the race units and building skins still need to be done.... :)
