You could tap a non ai GT with a console that fired pods on the bay, then thugs build their own pods.

That... Actually gives me some interesting ideas.

Picture for a moment, what if each player had their own budget for which they received scrap on a set rate or fraction of the total or some other method and with it they could make pods from a 'thug factory' that is embedded into one of the normal base structures?

I made a Thug pilot armoury ages ago, a gt can fire 4 different items, only thing was it didn't cost anything.
I also used it to reload bombs to a player piloted bomber, you had to get out to do it though, bit dangerous as someone might nick your bomber. That could work now as you could activate the terminal from the bomber on its bay. You could actually provide a Human piloted bomber with different types of bomb like this.
Allowing thugs to spend "the budget" is a troublesome concept, maybe they could spend the loose scrap collected by a scav they were given, but not out of the main scrap pile, commanders would have nervous breakdowns.

You can't tap any building with a Terminal, if you want it to be use-able. The other issue is collisions, you can't have a collision mesh on a tapped building. This isn't really an issue here though, I could use the base mesh as a gun tower, and tap a service bay object to it. Quite a cool idea actually, probably not much use here though.

As for bay sniping, that is a core part of the game. Plus of course, we always have [ServiceBay] servicePilots = 1/0 ;)

I do like the sound of that, but would probably limit in such way you never get any scrap untill your teams bar overflows, and this overflow is for collective use only(it still is a teambased game).

The other issue is collisions, you can't have a collision mesh on a tapped building.
Scion lungs manage to do this. You don't actually need the gun tower model, just its class to enable its console to be operated by a thug, deployer weapons produce the power ups. None of the tapped stuff need to be visible or colliding, the console model could be a part of the service bay.

Oh I see, yeah it would work great in this case. To achieve it though, the 'service bay' class of the model would have to be tapped on to the gun tower, which would be the base mesh.

So, I'm just about to upload the assets now and dish out the links... As a guy who laboured over this stuff for years to get it just right, I really think it's a shame to see it all go to waste and sit waiting for a hard-drive failure on my external drive.

Gutted Serenesis never came to anything, in my head it was awesome. but I hope the CP2 benefits from this stuff, hopefully at some stage I can contribute some more to it. It's looking like quiet the bitching mod at the moment, I'm very much missing this game lately... I swear 98-2000 was the best era for gaming ever.

I've donated all my stuff to Jayden and N1, it's a bit of a mess unfortunately and I'm UTTERLY BUGGERED that my amazing Sabre explosion has miraculously disappeared too. I was going to try and sift through it and sort it out but the time it'll take is just beyond reason I think. I wasn't half as organized as I wish I was..

Hopefully they'll find some use for some of it :)
