Still smarter than Bush AND Obama.
Everyone makes stupid comments. The media only covers it if its a conservative. Sometimes they downright lie about context. like with the latest 47% thing.

I must admit, I've never heard Obama say anything anywhere near that mind-numbingly ignorant. Bush perhaps, but I didn't hear him say all that much anyway.

Yes, as I understand it about 2/3s of that 47% does in fact pay payrole tax, rather than income tax. Not that it makes any difference to the taxpayer what you call it, just to the meaning of the soundbite.

That is entirely irrelevant to the quote. What he was saying was that those 47% would not vote for him given the goal of lower taxes since they don't pay any (of that type). He was talking to donors and it was strategy type stuff.
Makes a lot more sense right?

Two words, selective media. Flat out, it never gets reported. Meanwhile, one little verbal stumble for someone else and its all over the news.

Not only have we established and cemented the nanny state, now we're moving into the worried older sister state.

That's not a verbal stumble. A stumble wouldn't have left him looking like an idiot. Again.

Its a funny thing though, I have noticed in many of the companies I have worked for that those who rise to the top, are frequently not the people anyone would actually want to hold the position. I recall working at Xerox, where senior managers came and went quicker than the temps...It was always entertaining to see just what sort aggressive, half educated, technologically illiterate Suit they would put in charge of the people who did know what they were doing. Genius is seldom rewarded, just beating the other guy over the line seems to be enough.
