The directory you want to put them in is wherever your BZ2 files went; probably "C:\program files\battlezone ii". Extract the zip contents there.

So I put the files in the main BZ2 file, the extract the data, and when I'm done and it worked, what should appear and what should I expect?

don't install to C:\Program Files*

Put them in something like C:\BZ2*

When I hit "save" Roght before the file saved, I went the battlezone file first, then hit save.... Is that right?

yes, you should install it to the folder where bzone.exe is located and you should unzip it retaining the folders in the zip. the install for bz2 should be someplace other than C:\Program Files*

I put mine in D:\Program Files (loose)\Battlezone II 1_3pb6_2\ :-P

That's just me though, I have all the stuff that isn't installed in that (loose) folder since they don't have register hooks. I haven't "installed" BZ2 in years though, I just use an old copy of a fresh install to do everything.

If my post confused you though, just ignore it, its easier that way.

Windows should be able to handle .zip files itself.

Ideally, FE and/or other mods can be released as installers that read the BZ2 install directory from the registry, and do all that. That would make things easier for those not quite as familiar with how to use the magic glowy box in front of them. Only G66 has been updated with my installer template I've posted.

open the zip file.

Try using winrar, or if you dont have that, install 7zip i linked above, right click on the zip, in the right click menu you should see 7-zip section, select open archive.

Extract (or drag/drop) to the Battlezone II folder.

After the files are in Battlezone II folder, go to the desktop icon and create a copy of your battlezone II shortcut. right click on the new shortcut, select properties. in the "target" line, move the cursor to the end, after the last ", and then add a space, followed by: /config FE13.cfg

for instance: "C:\Program Files\Battlezone II\bzone.exe" /config FE13.cfg
