Is there a chance that the latest version has side effects on other mods and the plain 1.362? I run into bad assets issues when playing with people, who had vsr installed, but no issues once the removed their vsr installation.

Yeah, 4.2 has some files in it called 'dsuser' and 'dsuser_m' that slipped through the release review (part of an asset package released by another contributor). The files are located in Battlezone 2/Addon/VSR/Icecream/Pilots and can safely be removed, upon which they will no longer interfere with stock or any other mods. It wasnt a big deal for a few months as my target audience played VSR exclusively (and still does), and was not even brought to my attention until late december. However i'm encouraging all existing VSR 4.2 users who are testing the raknet patch to remove the dsuser and dsuser_m files because asset incompatibility will impact the testing of stock games, which is badly needed at this time.
This is the first time that VSR has ever caused anyone to have bad assets and i'm really sorry this happened. The problem will be cleared up in the 4.3 release which will be coming soon-ish and have its release announced on this board.

The latest version is now on this page:

Also, VSR is perfectly functional on 1.3.6.3d - totally stable, and loads of fun too. There were a couple of sudden rewinds, but that may just have been on my end. More people should come play it, I haven't seen many servers up recently!
