Yea, those early 3D cards is what was really a tipping point for me. My interest in PC games was very tepid up until I got a 3dfx Voodoo Rush card. Then BZ was released a few months after that and I was sucked in, hook line and sinker.

I started out in software mode until I figured out how to enable my Diamond Monster 3dfx Voodoo II. Ah, what a great piece of gaming history those were. I wonder, will they be a collector's item in a hundred years? "Before telepathic projection gaming technology, they used to play 3d games using these..."
