I actually like just "Void" - kinda cool and hasn't been used AFAIK (except The Void which is like an old txt adventure or something). And yes smartasses you destroy a void by filling it, in this case mostly with debris. Making all that debris is fun anyways - like I said it's heavily WIP,...

It's being designed from ground up with modding in mind already, object definition stuff is all in plain text XML - Paul the programmer hopes that modders will take it on with eg: B5 or Star Trek fleets, would be nice to see.

We're using Ogre - which, thanks to a thriving community of code gurus and other assorted genius can basically do whatever you want it to. We decided to run with a Cel shaded toon look - partly cos we both fans of the old 80s manga but mainly so I could concentrate on smashing out a bunch of models and FX without needing to worry about shaders etc (all the graphical whiz bang will be full screen compositors instead, later). We tried a heap of different variations during FE, it was tricky to alter the orange without making them look muddy and dull. Light Desert camo with the orange go-faster stripes works best for me - you really need a lot of contrast between the gunmetal greys and the coloured areas.

Storytime... I was fortunate enough to have Kens ear really early in 1.3 development - he quickly fixed some niggly view distance issues among other things that were stopping a few shows. After seeing some of the new stuff he also expressed interest in the potential of the Epic TC (ground+aerospace)...
