2 new maps to post

Is there anyone still actively hosting and taking new IA maps for bz2? I have a couple I made a while back when I was doing my own personal bz2 mod I meant to post and forgot. A link to an upload page would be appreciated, or pm me with an email address.

Late feedback, sorry. It turns out you need to feed the installer the ROOT directory of Battlezone 2, not a new subfolder. Then it installs/runs/uninstalls ok. That said, I tried a few of the missions, and had plenty of in-game crashes. Ugh. The maps were ok, but I was disappointed in how the enemie...

Is there a working link to the EPIC mod anywhere? I don't know if this was ever finished. bzscrap.org just has the texture fix, not the mod.

It doesn't want to install a shortcut, and I already tried setting up an alternate path, which it won't recognize. I am trying to set this up on XP, where I have all the other bz2 stuff of mine. I can't get this version of FE to set up properly. it prompts me to install to "I:" (wtf) and after I change it to a subdir in BZ2 I can't feed it the cfg file and have it work, even with the proper paths in a shortcut. it just starts stock bz2 every time. Does this have to be installed so...

ah, gotcha.

512x512 works good, but oddly, the galaxy just didn't look that much better than the 256x256 version. I'll keep the smaller one, or maybe replace it with another nebula.

I tried these in the 1.5 engine, and i think the original logos are better, the new logo and stars are too gaudy and orangy, making the units look strange in the middle distance. I would change the front part of the flanker wing back to red, and change the Czar too, it just looks odd with those litt...

I can't see the posted pic, but i tried a 384x512 32bit alpha masked texture of the milky way and 1.5 choked on it. So maybe nonsquare textures are not working? I will try a 512x512 and see if 1.5 likes that. the 256x256 milky way looks pretty good, but with all the star haze, 512 (at least high) wo...

First, in 1.4 sky color was controlled by palette index 209, now I am getting no color from this, 1.5 is picking both sky color and scope color from the last planet palette entry, right before the last 32 object colo...

Ok, I have been experimenting some with these, and the 32 bit alphas are great, check out my 16 bit texture post at battlezone1.org for details.

Can we apply textures larger than 256x256 to units and buildings? This would allow some pretty sharp tank detailing.

Question for ultraken on makemap

Using the new makemap utility, and I like it very much. I was wondering though, what the other 16 bit and 32 bit format are for, do maps made with these switches have a specific function in the engine or do they just provide better color depth? (I have only used the -565 switch so far).
