Re: The real world for the mods

If you're running multiple copies of BZ2 you'd be best using the zip version; extract its contents into a fresh installation of BZ2.

Re: The real world for the mods

The original version of Uler was designed for 1.2 but should function more or less the same on 1.3pb3.
The best-working versions of FE are for 1.2, followed by 1.3pb3.
QF was designed for 1.3pb4a but should function mostly fine on PB5 if the DXTBZ2 fix is applied.

Re: Star Trek Armada 2 Modding

I can't speak for Armada 2 because I don't own a copy, but I've just checked out Armada and Civ 3: Armada has several features similar to the Battlezone games - but not Battlezone II. It's actually more similar to Battlezone; its assets are contained in ZFS (Zork FileSystem) files, it uses .map for ...

Re: Star Trek Armada 2 Modding

Are you sure? Battlezone's engine was built from the one used by the Interstate games, which are based around car combat. I'm not sure if Civ 3 and the Armada titles, which is very much focused on strategy play, would have used an engine where strategy mechanics were essentially added as an aftertho...

Re: AIP Making for 1.3.7.2 ?

A lot of people have missed the fact that BZCC's version number is 2.0.140, not 1.3.something. DarkCobra's response is not unreasonable.

Re: Are Mods Compatible With The New "Battlezone: Combat Commander"?

Mods will need updating for compatibility with BZCC. Maps will need to be repainted, mission scripts rewritten, and new files added to allow the mod to appear in the new mod menu.

Re: 1.3.7.2 and new release on Steam/Gog

Once again , the post that quote is taken from was entirely unrelated to the discussion of BZCC . If you're going to making posts under the assumption that it is then I can't respond with anything but repeating that over and over again. So, no - as mentioned in this post and fully supported by this ...

Re: 1.3.7.2 and new release on Steam/Gog

That is exactly the opposite of what I said. My last post has nothing to do with BZCC at all and I made that very clear when I said "that's not what Rebellion are doing" in the very first sentence.

Re: 1.3.7.2 and new release on Steam/Gog

Even though that's not what Rebellion are doing here, I must be honest - I don't see an immediate problem with publishers taking relatively gentle and unintrusive steps to ensure that people who want to play their game are doing so legally. It's when they start doing things like requiring a connecti...

Re: 1.3.7.2 and new release on Steam/Gog

What? I can play BZ2 multiplayer without internet connexion or third party program, all i use is the native TCP/IP protocol. So if it's true that it's a "netcode implementation problem", it's clearly a volountary fact (as the fact it's on Steam). That's great and all, but you're comparing...
