Re: Battlezone II v1.3.6.5 Public Beta released

Also apparently there is a similar mismatch between isuser and fsuser. Though to my knowledge strategy02 uses *spilo.odf not *suser.odf like one would think it would.

Something brought up on steam. \/\/1/\/$0CK: respawning ISDF pilots have 250 health \/\/1/\/$0CK: scions, 100. \/\/1/\/$0CK: *suser_m \/\/1/\/$0CK: plus they regen ammo at 1/2 the rate Confirmed. I did look into it and according to my tests. 1.2 had both *suser_m pilots at 250 HP and addAmmo at 10....

Probably not, given its previous attempts each year to 'renew its commitment to PC gaming'

Re: How to edit Pilots texture?

Thanks for the feedback, I used Bicubic Smoother (in photoshop) then used the sharper tool and blur tool to carefully remove the pixelated areas. New Face Test I see. I haven't tried it on BZ2 textures, but you should consider applying 'surface blur' to the image after cleaning up the corners. It's...

Re: How to edit Pilots texture?

Looks great, you can really notice the smoothness of the texture being retained while the edges are sharpened nicely. That's typically a far better result than any kind of linear scaling can do. How did you upscale them? The best upscaling algorithm i've found so far is XBRz , but i've heard there a...

Re: Looking for a new monitor.

My dream monitor would probably be something like the LG 34UM95 ultra-wide monitor. It's expensive as heck right now ($1,300 CAD~$1,200USD) but if ultrawide monitors become a thing then the price of such a thing will undoubtedly go down. Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z43 - Open beta & testing

Say GSH, at what point are you going to release the full version of this patch? Just asking because it is tedious to have to install patch after patch and was hoping that a full patch could make the amount of players online more stable. Be careful what you wish for. The reason why the big patch has...

Re: BZ2 Large Textures Pack, v1.0

XBRz scaler is pretty much made for things that need clean edges (like UI elements). The standalone one is called 'ScalerTest' and link to it should be available in the XBR topic that I posted some time ago.

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z33 - Open beta & testing

Thank you for doing that very well written and well documented test. This is an example of a good test report. Could you run a test in strat mode where you build and shoot laser at the other ship and see if anything strange happens like 1-shot kills or damage which exceeds the 27%-28% damage that la...

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z33 - Open beta & testing

Having 'laggers' in the game is necessary to replicate real-world conditions Of course, but to pin the bug down it would be very useful to see if it also happened in non laggy connections. I can agree with that. Ideally it would be tested first in on a clean start with non-laggy conditions (control...

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z33 - Open beta & testing

Having 'laggers' in the game is necessary to replicate real-world conditions, and in fact I wanted to try and find a way to simulate late packets so we could determine if it's related to the appearance of the bug. Anyways, I've been discussing and trying to identify the current bugs in the public be...

Re: New DLL callbacks - any requests?

I'm trying to locate/troubleshoot a bug where damage will sometimes fluctuate when it's not supposed to (a so-called 'random damage' bug). Could a DLL callback be implemented that can get the damage value of any given weapon/explosion, and possibly output it to a DLL/logfile if the DLL supports that...

I have an unfounded theory that explosive damage may sometimes being calculated twice. I need to test it out.

Re: So you want to be a game designer...

I'm not against monetization. For example there used to be an amazing F2P game called Company of Heroes Online, that had the deep gameplay mechanics of the original CoH, but it was kicked up a notch by the player's abilities to kit themselves out with heroes, cards and a persistent skill tree. That ...
