Re: 1.3.7.2 Cannot run BZ2

First one is an access violation (0xC0000005) in the 1.3.7.2 bzone.exe. Can't easily tell where in the code it is, though. Certainly before the logging system can create battlezone*.log Best thing I can suggest here is to reinstall from CD to a fresh directory, then reinstall 1.3.7.2 into there. -- ...

Re: 1.3.7.2 Cannot run BZ2

Try going to Start Menu -> Event Viewer (search for it), then dig in the Windows Logs -> Application to see if MS noted any errors? Or pull up a command prompt, change to the directory you installed BZ2 into, and run bzone.exe from there. Sometimes error messaging is better in that mode.

Re: 1.3.7.2 Cannot run BZ2

You can try nuking the old (2016) logs from [This PC] -> Documents -> My Games -> Battlezone II, and re-running 1.3.7.2 to see if it generates anything. Are you running with any MOD(s) selected? There's also a shortcut installed to your Start Menu to run 1.3.7.2 in safe mode, in case your graphics o...

Jayden-
Is your FOV set to default? (Options -> Graphics, page 1). You can also use the +/- and arrow keys to move the camera around in 3rd person views.

Re: 1.3.7.2 Cannot run BZ2

Looking at the very top of that file you quoted, that doesn't look like you're running 1.3.7.2, or you found the wrong logfile. Your posted log notes a date in 2010, which isn't quite right: DIAG|Main | maininit:475 |13:17:41|0 |Version Information Section DIAG|Main | maininit:486 |13:17:41|0 |Sessi...

Re: Battlezone II v1.3.7.2 Public Beta released

Crashes in the D3D driver and G66 seem like the svar8 (check*.odf) issue that's better in b132z.

Re: README: Submitting logs of game problems

As the 1.3 patch readme notes, do not run the setup.exe located in the root of the CD. Dig into the setup folder and then run setup.exe from there.

Re: README: Submitting logs of game problems

The second image is noting that a .pak file (not sure which one) is truncated. BZ2 stores most of its data in those files. After a successful install from the BZ2 1.0 CD (North America), data.pak should be 284MB (298,494,101 bytes), and patch13.pak should be ~99MB. You can locate those files in the ...

Re: How do you load a map from the console

I generally just quit BZ2 and relaunch with a different map on the commandline. Put "/nobodyhome" (no "s) at the end of the commandline to delete all objects on load. See the readme13.rtf installed with BZ2 for helpful commandline items.

BZ2 1.3.7.2-b132ak posted

There is a new sub-build of 1.3.7.2 to be installed over 1.3.7.2: download b132ak . To install: Unpack the contents of this .zip over a 1.3.7.2 install or a 1.3.7.2+132z install. Major fixes since 1.3.7.2: better handling of mods that late-load ODFs, possibly from a background thread. Arc should now...

Re: 1.3.7.2 stopped working uner win 10?

Doing some google searches, that sounds like one of the Microsoft Redistributables was uninstalled or changed so BZ2 can't find it. You can either (1) Re-run the 1.3.7.2 installer, and make sure to let it install any/all redists. (2) Or, look in the Redist folder installed in the same directory as 1...

Re: Graphics Card Struggling to Play BZ2 at Highest settings.

Per this link , the Radeon 4300/4500 were announced in 2008, and can be outfitted with slower memory. After 8 years, it's probably time to think about an upgrade. BZ2 does have a lot of things you can do to dial down settings. Shadows on High has always been slower and buggy. 1.3.7.x has support for...

Re: Struggling to play with a friend. (Forgotten Enemies and UEP Help Required)

UPNP is optional . If the host's router speaks it, it makes it much easier for others to join. If UPNP is not supported/enabled/etc by the hosts's router, BZ2 will have to fall back on NatNeg to join. NatNeg is much more tricky, and has higher failure rates. - If you're getting NatNeg errors, that m...
