I know a very similair tune was used in a Dutch song a handfull of years ago.

Hint: It was released for the Sega Genesis (16 bit) in 1991. 2 Alien rappers crash land on Earth and need to recover pieces of their spaceship to escape crazy earthlings.

I thought I recognized the tune because I did play Tojam and Earl back in the day. But its so far in the back of my head that I couldn't get it off hand.

No. I am still the proud owner of a functioning Sega megadrive (But no suitable tv to use it with...) I don't actually have that game though, which is why I did not recognise the tune alone.
