How about reprogramming a console game using only controller inputs?

As far as I can tell, BZ2 should be immune to this.

Only days after the prior announcement... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-st ... e-25957848

It's obvious from the way it's been handled that this decision was made years ago. We were consulted last month and told what was happening this week. Amusingly, the student union is supporting a vote of no confidence in the university executives.

EDIT: Wow. The students pushing for the no-confidence motion have been shown a leaked report disseminated amongst military families in Germany that says the MOD are already preparing to buy the campus for use as a private training school. No way this was a recent thing. Very underhanded.

It's been a long time lads but I'm back and kicking, been checking in now and then to see how the patches are coming and thought I'd finally dig up my password from somewhere and change it to something I'll remember. Good to see this thread has survived my absence.

So how about this whole Ukraine mess?

Disregard that, regard this on new dwarf planets being found:

The 36-TB option is... interesting. The company is legitimate and so, it seems, is the offer. The drawback is that it's all in Chinese, so I might wait for an English version before I investigate further.

Bait.
Recalls the hidden program(s) installed by Samsung after I bought one of their phones...Just got to ask yourself what it is they're really up to.

So long as you expect it and react accordingly that shouldn't be a problem. You don't need either program installed for longer than it takes to redeem the bonuses.

Asian tech companies are in the middle of what's been called a "storage war", each trying to snag the most customers by offering the best deal on free space. From what I can gather (I obviously can't read it myself) their T&Cs are clean.

the best deal on free space
It's free, so what is the deal? Samsung chose to install a hidden program, without a UI, that was uninstallable, at no point did they inform me about it or its purpose, Deleting it wrecked my OS. Many nations do not have appropriate legislation to protect consumers from underhand activities. These companies are not just sitting there crying about all the excess storage they cannot even give away. There will be another agenda. Couldn't help but noticing the article was from a web site with a tendency towards paranoia about it own government. What makes them think others will be any better, there's a very good chance that they are actually much worse.

Of course there's another agenda, which is why you take the appropriate precautions. Sandboxing applications, running through a VPN, monitoring network traffic, dozens of other ways. Even software you don't trust can be examined.

I'm not proposing people use it; I've brought it up because it's interesting. File storage companies in Asia routinely offer beyond 1TB of free space, while western ones rarely go above a hundredth of that.
