If given the truth, the people can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts - and beer.

That the concept of an endless staircase isn't scary.

Here is a scary one, what's at the bottom of a seemingly endless staircase?

SCP-087
Object class: Euclid.

It's a very odd experience. They make everything sound really dry, but they're ideal for recording things in.

I want to see what sensory deprivation is like.

A) Easily done with the facial senses (sight, hearing, smell).
B) Very unpleasend in the case of touch. (You probably already know this somewhat when you have experienced sleeping limbs.)
C) Can be stimulated in the case of taste by manipulating it. (Go taste petit fours, try them in different orders. Not a very good example but it does work somewhat.)

It's actually extremely difficult to deprive yourself of audial input. Even in a specially designed deprivation chamber, there are two sounds you will always be able to hear; your own heartbeat and, believe it or not, your nervous system.
