My opinion has evolved to the point where I now think the conspiracy theory's were a conspiracy in themselves, anything was better than discussing the real issues and dealing with them. eg protecting freedom and liberty through the establishment of binding international law and limiting the rights of the powerful people and entities that are still riding our sorry butts today...

The thing that irritates me the most about 9/11 is what we didn't learn from it. This is evidenced by the fact that we are doing more of the same things that inspired 9/11 ten years down the road.

the conspiracy theories grew out of a lack of understanding how the towers came down. they looked like they were imploded by professionals, so people started thinking that it *must* be an inside job, like the Reichstag fire in Germany.

most reports about the huge explosions underneath the towers in the subway tunnels and parking garages were either dismissed or ignored. cutting out the base of the towers with large explosions were successful this time because the 1993 one failed and the attackers learned from that, probably due to all the information about it spread about in the press, so this time they (unfortunately) got it right.

Why it looks like a controlled demo is a third of the towers were above the softening beams that had their fire proofing pressure washed and blow torched from a 425 foot per second pressure wash of jet fuel.

Once that horrendous mass of one third of the building began even the slightest movement of downward acceleration there was no chance.

My understanding of physics, perspective, geometry, and chemistry tell me that the 9/11 attacks occurred exactly how they were presented to have occurred. All conspiracy theories come from bad understandings of these subjects, including but not limited too:

Evidence of thermite is also evidence of many other things.
Fuel can indeed burn hot enough to melt steel.
The planes were moving so fast at impact they liquefied, explaining the size and depth of the holes, and also causing lots of extra heat. Watch a golf ball impact in slow motion.
All clams of forged footage claiming perspective errors fail to account for perspective when applying basic geometry.
All claims of impossible banking rates and such fail to account for a plane that is not trying to 'fly' and, again, perspective.
All claims that it was a controlled demolition are conjecture as no one has ever seen an 'uncontrolled' skyscraper demolition and thus cannot draw a conclusion.

, are simply the products of stupidity.

Rosie ODonnell used to crack me up when she would tell the world she knew for a fact that airliners could not possibly bring down the towers, that it "defies the laws of physics."

Of course this coming from a non-college grad, let alone any study of engineering, chemistry or physics, beyond surfing the net for a few hours. Yet being a celebrity, for some reason to many in the world, this carries more weight than a group of engineers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and many other professional engineering associations. But to Rosie, I'm sure the hundreds of engineers involved in the report were all in on the conspiracy.

Well at least she's not talking about anything that might seriously impact American Interests in the wider world, like the activities of arms dealers, or supporting the development of freedom and liberty in wealthy foreign dictatorships or exposing the "underground" corporations continuing to do irreparable damage to the worlds ecosystem for short term economic gain.
Much better that she's left making a fool of herself talking bollocks about things she knows nothing about eh?

The terrorists were nutcases, fanatics true, but they were not that in isolation, they were just as exposed to the rubbish and propaganda that made everyone else think the US was loosing the plot in a very major way too.
Opposing international law, opposing the climate change treaty's and pretending to be peace brokers in the middle east, while constantly sabotaging them.
Well all of these things seem to be permanently off the agenda now, so you can now go bankrupt happy in the knowledge that your representatives did all they could to enrich the globalised corporations and appease interest groups who's agenda's they were only too happy to follow, despite being clearly INSANE.
