Got it for free on Steam a few days ago and am enjoying it. If you are in to WWII/ Combat Aviation games, you may enjoy it.

Probably got the name wrong, but a few years ago there was a naval mmo game, you got free access to the beta. Pretty cool game, untill you got of a certain rank and could no longer use some 'auto' features, which is also when I stopped playing.
This pretty much look as if its from the same developers, just in the air instead of at sea. I do hope they have a better mechanism to keep games balanced (high vs low level players), but not do so by making it annoying/micro-heavy.

The game is indeed quite balanced, in that you don't have Jets vs. Biplanes. :D

They are working on both naval and ground (tank) based combat additions to the game besides just dive bombing them at 500 mph in your pimped out Stuka.....

Love this game. Can't wait for the addition of tanks soon, mostly so I can just bomb them.

War Thunder > World of Warplanes, most definitely. Better in every way. Both are free so I guess it's worth trying both out though!

I dunno War Thunder, but i know well Word of Tanks, and i can assureyou it's not free (oh yes you can launch it without pay, but you are sure to be defeated by rich guys).
It's what i call a free to loose, pay to win, or simply a "free to pay".
The name people use is "free to play", and everybody know it's a lie, for example you have too... EA games (BFP4F, NFS World).
In WoT you must pay for do a team, you must pay for have good ammo, cheated tanks who nobody can have without money, and you can buy tanks in 1second who make 6 months for unlock without money (look the T-50-2 required XP for example, that need like 1 month of intense playing).

I dont spend money, and I do decently on it.

I do disagree with most games that give microtransactions that give actual play benefit, though.

War Thunder is pretty fair as far as pay-2-win goes, you can't just buy your way to the endgame jets. There's also no premium jets you can just buy outright, and I played for like 7 months without spending a dime and I progressed pretty far down the tech trees. Plus the graphics are gorgeous. I'd recommend a download, it's on Steam now.
