Isn't there an issue with copyright and trademark or w/e or ?

It wouldn't be called Battlezone 3, it's highly unlikely that we could call it Battlezone 3. There is some people I can get in touch with though through my LinkedIn.. When the time is right. I expect this to take awhile, but I really want this to happen and I think it needs to be done by the Battlezone community. No-one knows Battlezone as well as us (besides the developers who worked on it)DarkCobra262 wrote:Isn't there an issue with copyright and trademark or w/e or ?
Given they haven't worked on it for ten years, I'd say there are only two of them who know it that well.danrhodenizer wrote:It wouldn't be called Battlezone 3, it's highly unlikely that we could call it Battlezone 3. Well, now that his programming and their entire engine has been replaced with a new programmer who has some actual sense and an engine that is at least SLIGHTLY better suited, maybe there is a chance in hell. Of course, i think what we would be doing is not waiting for Bionite to use as a base but waiting for its inevitable failure to blow over and hope the genera doesn't suffer.Red Spot wrote:I'm not trying to burst an bubble or be negative, just a few things I think 'needs' to be said.
Personally I'd wait for Bionite. No real project will come from this in a short time frame anyway and Bionite 'might' just provide for a good base to start working from (given that LtFeet would allow you).
Next there is already some community project going on, in seclusion.
Than most people who are interested in this tend to tell they have so many projects they already work on that choices will need to be made or its going to take 10 years to develop anything.
Most of those are also 'youngsters' that are in an age range they will likelly be interested developing a life/family of their own .. dont underestimate the dedication and time that takes.
Having said all that. I'm intrigued to see where Bionite goes and wether that is succesfull or not, so would I be if this does get of the ground.
I already worked on Bionite for about 2 years, there is no chance at me returning to that project either. I don't believe age matters. Passion, creativity and talent is what drives projects towards success. I am not going to wait 3 years just to wait and see if a project fails or not before making up my mind to start something. But, I am just seeing if there is interest among the Battlezone community, I haven't tried any other forums besides this one. What is this community project that's going on?Red Spot wrote:I'm not trying to burst an bubble or be negative, just a few things I think 'needs' to be said.

Oh nice that looks beautiful too. Great looking assets, good work so far guys! I will take a deeper look into it soonAHadley wrote:This is its Moddb link. Going is currently slow, but good things are happening. It's been in development at least a two or three years now; it was spawned from the failed attempt at launching a community project on BZU in 2009.
If that is the time frame they are looking at for a release than I understand it completelly, but does it still take an other 3 years or is that just a random number you selected?danrhodenizer wrote:I already worked on Bionite for about 2 years, there is no chance at me returning to that project either. I'm sure it's an exaggeration of mine, but based off my experience with Bionite I wouldn't be surprised. I don't like to talk about Bionite, especially anything negative. But I understand it's hard to avoid that sometimes. I hope it works out, me and John (ltfeed) have found resolution with one another over the last year+.Red Spot wrote:If that is the time frame they are looking at for a release than I understand it completelly, but does it still take an other 3 years or is that just a random number you selected?danrhodenizer wrote:I already worked on Bionite for about 2 years, there is no chance at me returning to that project either. Ask the other in this topic about 'CP2', they are part of it, not me.
