+ Bump maps and a0 textures.
MACROS,
Plus, just rescale the raster, if you don't have it, the format details for BZ2's custom DXT is noted in DXTGen, make a converter.

I'm trying photoshop automation droplets, but the a0 textures will all need to be done manually.

why

Because the 00 and a0 are both derived from the same .psd file each time I save them. I do it manually. It saves HD space, considering each PSD is over 50mb and there are hundreds. When I was making the textures, I often did little tweaks and it would have been crazy trying to keep track of the tweaks over multiple PSDs.

They are also not uniform. Some PSDs have the a0 saved as the alpha channel, and others have the bump map.

So you need to make a slightly smarter macro... Something more than just event recordings.

One feature of my PSDs is that the first layer is almost always the a0 layer and the last one is the bump map. If I can sort them out to all be exactly that way, I could possibly create droplets that saved those selections based on that. Then again, they may select layers by reference number rather than by position in the list.

Personally as someone who creates stuff like this myself I think its wonderful. I don't think the idea here is to make it more realistic but in fact just improve the existing art. For me Battlezone 2 still looks good and if a game came out tomorrow that was as fun I would buy it instantly. The updated artwork really does take on a surreal dreamy more romantic look all its own. I commend your efforts at revitalizing this legendary game.
