Getting an asstank to always use a given weapon

I have an assault tank (Hedoux) with the following weapon loadout

1x Cannon (A)
2x Gun (C)

I want it to prefer to always use its main cannon vs combat targets. How would I go about doing this? (Note: I want to avoid making the guns into assault class if possible).

You want the Ai to use the A cannon against everything? just set weapon mask as 10000. This should stop it using the guns at all.

I believe he wants it to also use it's guns against combat targets, but not assault targets, and use cannon on both.

Actually, I would prefer it to not use its guns at all (yeah, I know it seems silly -- but the Hedoux and accompanying weapons were originally balanced for 1.2 -- a human piloted Hedoux would still have use of the guns.)

That said, I didnt know weaponmask worked for Assault Tank AI till now. Thanks gents.

Don't know. Last I checked (pb3 or so), the only turreted AI that used the weaponmask setting was the Guntower AI. But I assume that if someone is suggesting weaponmask, then AssaultTankProcess has been changed to honor the weaponMask setting. Will check it out when I get home (and complain obnoxiously to MTS if it doesnt work) :D

Weapon mask has always worked for everything with a weapon :)

It had never occurred to me to cripple the power of human piloted hedouxes in order to fix an undesirable AI behavior.

EDIT: Lowered the scorch factor by 50%

Do you have the Hadean xsi?
It would be cool if you could enable recy and fact unit configuration. Only reason they don't do it is because it was impossible in 1.2. probably just need to add terminals to the buildings and odf entries.

Cool yes but their entire race was balanced on the fact they didn't have that. Not something you can just hit with a stick.

Zax is right about that, and it might cause balance issues to appear -- if not now, then sometime in the future when people get more comfortable with the Hadeans.

Back on topic. I tried weaponMask with the AI settings that RTs and Asstanks use but it still went back to its default behavior of preferring to use its secondary guns against Combat class targets.

Then weaponmask is being overwritten and ignored by the isAssault.
