Also some major plans for how MP works. It will be a little cumbersome as I will have to dynamic generate CFGs outside BZ2 for it to work, but if I show the effort and that it works I can probably get some help from GSH (hoping so at least). In the past he's helped a bit when things were actually shown to be being done. Once this lua mission stuff is fully working hopefully it can be used to extend lua AIP options as well.

FS3 and CP2 are both ideal candidates for the way you want to work.

FS3 probably needs a treatment, though we would like to talk about what parts the CP2 expects of it (its mostly the after effects of it).

If I was to make an FS3, I'd want to do it alongside Lizard. It's his project after all. There is an obvious issue there.

I have added a bit of story which occurs after FS3 and QF2 end.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Meanwhile, with the EDF and Phaer-Rhan facing a civil war after the defeat of Nemesis, the ACF war-fleet declares its neutrality in the conflict and withdraws to the Akaifan solar system.

This decision angers both sides, but they are too busy fighting each other to give it that much thought.

The EDF is split into two near-equal sized factions; The Black Dogs and the Phaer-Rhan declare themselves the 'Inter-World Alliance' who are loyal to Major McKenzie (FS1 protagonist), while the Raven's Claw Elite Guard, the Human-Scions and the EDF Regular forces make up the 'Loyalist Cooperative Force', who are loyal to General Paulson.

The Super-Furies which the EDF released to destroy Nemesis escaped into the galaxy and have teamed up with the Olympian-Scion Furies. Together they have been harassing the ACF, IWA and LCF forces.

The LCF forces retreated to the Sol system after the IWA forces defeated them in the Gallus and Orius systems.

Reports come back to Akaifa that the IWA have defeated the LCF forces in a decisive battle on Earth. Apparently they actually fought it out on the surface, as well as in orbit.

President Hardin has been forcibly removed and the IWA have installed a military government over the entire planet.

Many of the former Earth nations have responded by declaring their sovereignty once again and leaving the federation.

Apparently there are Phaer-Rhan mobile forces driving around in the streets of European cities, parading their strength.

That is all that we know for now. We'll keep you posted.

Hmm,

Somehow that's a bit less chaos than ours. These events occur in the "while you were out" period in the CP2 story (non spoiler stuff honestly, it doesn't occur in the main story, it's the backdrop that drives certain key events), so it is supposed to be a bit shocking when you get back how f*cked up things are.

The battle with Nemesis does massive damage to the stability of the EDF. The actions of the Black Dogs are quite significant to the rift and the racism between the Phaer Rhan and the Scions reaches a head. The EDF has grown too large to enforce its hierarchy and falls into many smaller independent armies, mostly the existing squadrons loyal to their commanders.

The EDF are mostly the top level AAN forces and the few Sol based forces. They blockade Sol against all, including former EDF.

The Black Dogs are off god knows where, gallivanting about.

The Scions, prior to these events, were somewhat secretly expanding their capability with carriers equip to keep them alive in a fashion similar to Core. This is partly in reaction to the Swarm but more specifically the continuing death of Core.

The Raven Claw are still in the EDF graces and act as their only force outside Sol, but this relation is tentative at best and is really simply due to the commander of the RC choosing to align with the original order.

The Uler are no longer guarded and quite frankly a bit confused.

The Hadeans have armed against their own rebels who have gained much power in the sudden power vacuum.

Numerous other former EDF squadrons are off about, some are making hay for others, some are hoarding resources. For years to come we are probably going to be finding random human colonies or groups popping up.

Of course the irony of all this is that it all takes place is a relatively small area of space, something like 3% of the galaxy.

The design of this, and certain core events in the main arc, result in lots of possible places for side stories.

To be fair I would like to see a "What happened after the Scion's Home Planet Died" Era. Like when Braddock take's over the Earth.

This is the original story for FS3 from Lizards old post on bz2md, seeing as how i still have the original fe install still saved on my hd.

Fleshstorm 3: The Awakening

with the allied fleet in pursuit the swarm flees with the stolen promethian probe through a network of portals finally emerging in a vast nebula, there are no more active protals in the region. The nebula is dense and the allied fleet have lost track of the swarm they send out scout ships to scour the nebula but it's dense and navigation is tricky, then a vast energy emission is detected on the far side of the nebula, the energy signature is unlike anything the allies have ever encountered. The scout groups race to discover the source of the emission with the main fleet following them, as the dust cloud begins to thin the scout ships find themselves in a binary star system, there between the twin stars is situated a massive portal of incredible proportions - it's the Promethian collossus gate, connected to this portal is the stolen probe and there also is the swarm in it's vast entirety - the mother of all pod clouds. The swarm however pays no attention at all to the enemy scouts the vast swirling mass of pods situated just outside the portal seems to have it's attention firmly fixed on something else. As the scouts draw nearer they become aware of something else at the heart of the massive pod cloud, they send out probes to get a closer look, at the center of the shifting mass of pods is a vast single object, as the probes get closer they realise the swarm pods are being absorbed by this object.

The swarm has recovered Nemesis, after a billion years trapped in a empty void it is little more than a decaying husk but it's not entirely dead, with growing horror the allies realise Nemesis is slowly regenerating, weak power signatures are detected deep in the heart of the decaying mass.

The swarm has fullfilled it's purpose returning all harvested biomass to it's creator, the allies realise that time is short, as more and more swarm pods are absorbed back into Nemesis those weak power signatures begin to grow stronger and stronger. They calculate that within days possibly even less Nemesis will be fully regenerated they need to act fast and they need to act now or all will be lost, deciding that the easiest and best solution would be to send the swarm and Nemesis back through the promethian portal they send a commando squad to capture the portal from the swarm . The battle goes badly and the swarm is able to initiate a chain reaction in the portal's power system destroying the portal before the allies are able to take control.

The power of the blast is incredible, the resulting shock wave litterally blows the swarm pod cloud away from Nemesis leaving it exposed and vulnerable, as the allied fleet finally arrives on the scene they realise that this is their moment, they plan an all out assault on Nemesis itself. Hoping that biometal will have the same effect on Nemesis as it does on the swarm the scions reveal the existance of two incredibly powerful biometal bombs - originally designed to seed entire planets with biometal and later modifed as a potential weapon to be used against the swarm. The only problem being that the scions didn't have the time to finish work on the delivery system for the bombs, it's decided to take the bombs down to the "surface" of Nemesis using a couple of EDF dropships, however the journey down to the surface is not easy as some of Nemesis's defensive systems are already active (I'm thinking this could make a pretty cool space mission death star trench style ) . With the bombs placed the dropships and their remaing escorts make their escape, the bombs are detonated sending molten biometal deep into the heart of Nemesis, the results are spectacular and totally unexpected, sensing the foriegn material Nemesis begins to purge itself causing geysers of molten biomental to errupt from it's surface . Nemesis itself however seems reletively unaffected by the biometal toxin and as the scattered swarm pods begin to return Nemesis once again continues to regenerate.

Realising they have no other option the allies authorise a full scale ground assault, with the biometal geysers there will be no shortage of resources, however there are no pools upon Nemesis so scavs will be unable to deploy the allies will have to revert to using the older silo system for storing scrap. Two potential targets have been identified, the first designated "the brain" is an area of high activity located quite close to the surface - this appears to be some kind of control center. The second potential target designated "the heart" lies deep below the surface of Nemesis, although many systems in this area appear inactive there are 5 enormous power signatures that are gradually rising in output.

The decision is made to strike at the brain as it presents a single target located in a reletively easily accessable area close to a cluster of biometal geysers.

Nemesis however isn't as helpless as the allies anticipated and despite the fact that they throw everything they have into the assault on the brain the allies suffer a heavy defeat, all hell breaks loose as the scattered forces desperately attempt to regroup, small pockets of fighters are massacred by a combination of the remaining swarm units and Nemesis's own hellish creations. As EDF high command tries to rally the troops for a second strike on the Brain the Phaer-Rhan and Blackdogs stage a mutiny, unprepared to sacrifice anymore of their troops on another futile assault they opt to stage a commando style raid on the heart of Nemesis. The Blackdog commander due to some acts of extreme heroism is given the option of taking command of an assault group from the Ravens whose own commander has been killed or joining his mutinous comrades and being charged with treason.

a campaign split here will mean that the player will be able to choose which path to take.

Should the player decide to join the Ravens he will join the rest of the allies in a final desperate assault on the Brain. EDF command in one last gamble authorise the unthinkable and unleash their ultimate weapon a highly unstable hybrid strain of biometal that's a cross between Fury biometal and the Mechana, when the consignment arrives the player is charged with putting these new super furies into production. Predictably however the allies soon lose control of the super furies as they go on the rampage attacking allies and Nemesis alike, chaos reigns supreme as all seems lost. In one last ditch attempt to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat the player's squad using themselves as bait attempts to lure the super furies towards the brain, the ploy works and super furies and Nemesis become engaged in an apocalyptic battle in which both sides annihilate eachother as the remaining allied survivors attempt to escape the ensuing carnage.

If the player opts to join the Phaer-Rhan and the Blackdog mutineers he will find himself caught between rampaging super furies and the forces of Nemesis as they fight their way to the very heart of Nemesis. Although Nemesis has focussed the majority of it's forces on the allied assault on the Brain the journey becomes increasingly perilous as more and more of it's systems regenerate. Eventually using a combination of stealth and cunning the rebels reach their destination - a vast cavern deep within Nemesis containing the 5 great hearts that power the abomination. The cavern is so vast that the rebels are forced to build aircraft to assault the hearts with, but the job is far from easy as the cavern is swarming with defenders.

With the annihilation of Nemesis and the Swarm the allies and rebels find themselves facing eachother in one final battle to decide control of the galaxy.
