Cerberi Portal Effect

Post by Vadam »

This is a tiny question but I just cannot seem to find the effect for those spherical Cerberi portals in FE. There's so much assets in FE it would take forever to look through them all. I have tried booting up the single player mission where they appear in order to use the editor, but for some reason FE's editor makes it so only you appear in the game and nothing happens.

I was not aware the Cerberi had a portal.

If you're referring to the Hadean portal, they are in: fedata.pak under bz2cp > fe fx > portal effect.

Cerberi have portal sphere effect. I am not sure of the specific files at the moment though.

I know one is used in the mission "Rebuilding the Ark" shortly after the beginning. It only appears in non-editor BZ though.

Alright, I installed a version of FE where the assets weren't horribly unorganized by being grouped all into one list, and found it under fedata.pak > fe fx > Aurora globe. Apparently its a combination of effects, so its impossible to make it into a mine or something.

Oh, no, it can be combined into a single effect. I think I have one somewhere at home, I'll try to dig it out for you.

Alright, I appreciate that. I had tried lumping them all into one but I guess I did it wrong or something.

Mine has this. Fire a delayed-detonation weapon (MDM and PL-stab work well) into the sphere it'll destabilise and the orbiting "electrons" will break free and cause pretty serious harm to anything nearby. I'll add a purely aesthetic version too.

If that's the case, I have both.
