it's nothing you did. it's always just been this way in stock:

I've always just pretended it was a pool of biometal. Yes I know it extends to the back as well, shhh... just roll with it, just believe and it will be so.

Isn't that Reflection3.PIC? If anything, doesn't it just need a fixed UV?

Actually it's not, funnily enough, from the right angles you can see anything clipping the terrain through it.

Unless I'm mistaken but I'm fairly certain I saw what I think I saw.

Hey, I've got an idea that's amazing and totally original - why not put Reflection3.PIC there? It'd look like two pools of biometal, which is pretty fitting given that the Forge is apparently where Cooke and Shabayev get their upgrades.

To change it, would actually mean changing the name of the texture in the xsi file. Which could easily be done, but the texture likely would look funny, and it may well interfere with MP play, and I wouldn't want to do that for such a small thing. Like others have said, I always assumed it to be biometals pools ... but it might be something I fix in the future with a mod maybe.

i just looked at it up front and personal and those are pools of biometal and, yup, it is using reflection3.pic. i replaced it with fbintf01.pic in the xsi and it looks..."worser". and here i always thought it was just missing textures...

now thinking it might look better if a light mist came off of it like is done with the biometal pools.

I'm thinking "Bad Idea". Particle effects and the insides of buildings are not a good mix in bz2. To draw or not to draw, that is the process consuming question. :)
It's been many versions since I tried it but usually the result is that no particles emitted inside buildings get rendered.
