Upgrading Buildings
Can you apply them to all buildings? How many times can you upgrade a building? What sorts of files are required? Can you do it without a constructor?
Re: Upgrading Buildings
Upgrading is done entirely by ODF, and all the code lines required are stored within the ODF of the building to be upgraded. Take a look at fbkiln for an ideal example. Upgrade changes can be of an unlimited length, but need a constructor to perform the upgrade.Clavin12 wrote:Can you apply them to all buildings? How many times can you upgrade a building? Upgrading a recycler is not a good idea.

Re: Upgrading Buildings
Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant. Lets say you upgrade it and it builds 2x faster .General BlackDragon wrote:Well, ASSSUMING it upgrades into another recycler of some type. (vehicle or building)

That would require a lot of ODFs.ADMIRAL MANSON wrote:Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant. Re: Upgrading Buildings
that only needs 1 new ODF and then changes to stock build times saved with differnt names anding _whatever to the end would work fine.AHadley wrote:That would require a lot of ODFs.ADMIRAL MANSON wrote:Speaking of which that gives me an idea but it would and maybe could be made into a rec variant. I use _SC
SRV uses _SRV
and lord tac uses _LC
I will leave it up to others to list the rest.
Re: Upgrading Buildings
Build time is defined by the build ODF, not the builder. Thus to change build times by upgrading, you would need a lot of ODFs.

Re: Upgrading Buildings
If I had to upgrade any buildings, it would be my constructor/builder to make it frikin MOVE faster, and upgrade my guntowers into assault towers.
But both of those are fixed or available in Blakis's Combat Mod Variant.
