I can bake the SSS into the textures so that it will be in game but it won't look quite as good.

When you say "here is tech center" it sounds like this race is the counterpart of ISDF. They have the same buildings?

The buildings will have different names and there will be a different power scheme. I may make the factory upgradeable.

Time for a progress report. for buildings I have:
  • a recycler
    a factory
    an armory
    a service bay (I may change it)
    a pilot production building
    a research/tech building
    a gun tower (I will make another one)
    and an extractor
For units I have:
  • a constructor
    a scout
    a basic tank
    a light missile vehicle
    a heavy missile vehicle
    a walker
    an artillery vehicle
    a heavy assault vehicle
    a wheeled unit (possibly)
    a bomber (possibly)
I have yet to create a final pilot design, a service truck, a turret, and a power scheme with corresponding buildings. I also have yet to do any final UV unwrapping, texturing, animation, or weapon creation.

One thing that bugs me and I now try to correct is that all races have hit a wall of general similarity with one another in some factor. Basically all races can be tied to at least 2 others.

I could rethink the tech tree entirely and come up with some crazy new scheme if you like.

Also, is it possible to create looping animation of any kind in any unit?

I had an idea. What if, instead of having all these buildings there was only one main building that would act as the recycler, factory, training facility, maybe armory, and tech center as you upgraded it. It might also have a few turrets. The only other buildings would be the extractor and the gun towers. You could call this the Shee.

I thought the Shree had separate facilities. It was the BZClassic Ancient Hadeans that had an all in one.
