And. . .
Sketchup - minimal animation with good selection of exporters.
Also, those wishing to get into Sketchup, I offer up this link. It will expand the software to amazing heights, easily as powerful as any modeling program. . . AND 98% of the plugins are free.

TextCrawler
Bulk Find/Replace, with plenty of other options as well. Much more powerful than windows grep, and allows you to add multiple lines underneath others.

http://www.pixologic.com/sculptris/
Found this today, Sculptris, Its free!!!
It enables you to sculpt models and paint them, been trying it out for a couple of hours, once you read the documentation and figure out the keys for all the buttons they forgot to put on the UI, it seems quite good. It exports .obj which can be used in lots of other programs, the UV maps it makes seem a bit random and it probably won't be too easy to fit textures after their creation, but If you want to "paint" your geometry by hand, then this seems to work quite well. It has a reduction brush, so you can reduce the poly count of what ever you make, and you can import .obj you made elsewhere. Sculpting organic style geometry's is allot simpler than in many other programs, such as 3dsmax7.
