BZ1 sound

Post by Baconboy »

Yesterday, I installed the Battlezone 1998 installer.

I ran it, but it was without sound. There is not supposed to be music, but why is there no sound?

I'm not sure; check the volume setting under options to make sure it isn't dialed down.

I think it's fixed...
I restarted the comp, but it may go down again...

Most sounds are packed into ZFS files, with a few in the addon directory. The BZ1998 installer includes the same ZFS files as the retail disk and large asset pack, and most of the same addon files as the 1.4 patch. I use the beta test installer for convenience since many of the players testing use that, and I've never had a problem with missing sound (besides music, of course).

If it isn't working, it's very likely something about your machine--most likely a sound driver issue. Do you have sound problems with a patched retail install or any other game? Also, what sound hardware do you have?

It's working now. Might've been a one time thing...
And about the music, I just open up the music in Media Player.
