Should it go to the "popular" side?

Post by DeathSystem »

Hello, I just joined this site to IM GHS about my idea (but I couldn't cause I just registered...) which is unlikely to go through as a successful procedure, but maybe a good community support or somehow finding most of the other developers of Battlezone II, this might be possible.

I don't know if anyone of you here got a thread related to this before or some time earlier, but it's nothing to lose I guess. More opinions, much better understanding.

Full thread is at http://bz2maps.us/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4266
I've been thinking about this for a while now... Getting this amazing game on the Steam network, since we have lack of games, and GameSpy might fail us pretty bad sooner or later...

But the outcomes might not be as good as it sounds, a lot of noobs would show up (fun to kill pwn!), a lot of DLCs would be there (which might be good), Steam might use the game for profit sooner or later by making items for it... (Which is rarely to happen.)

But again, it would be a nice portal for bz2's multi-player system.

Or they'd make another game similar to Battlezone II (like how they did to DotA; which is DotA 2 "by Valve") calling it Battlezone III

Anyway, I think it might be a good game on Steam, $5 might be a good price for it too if GHS agrees with it. But it would probably go through A LOT of debate and copyright ****.

tl;dr: Your opinion of Battlezone II would be a good idea on Steam or not.

It's been said many times before - we can do nothing. Activision are the owners of the IP and the distribution rights; they alone can put it on Steam. And they won't (and don't) listen to us. GSH might have worked as one of its developers, but he's effectively a glorified modder in this matter.

The best hope at the moment is GOG, and there's an entry for BZ on their wishlist. Besides that, we can't really do much of anything.
battlezone.wikia.com needs your help!

After 14 years, you'd think they'd learn to spell my board handle correctly.

Poll removed from topic as it has basic problems with reality.

Death.System is not all that active on BZ2MAPS either. Give him a break. Stop being a bunch of pricks.
This is where my signature picture would normally be. It is not, as you can see.
You're wasting your time reading this. :)

Except we aren't. Frankly, we are downright kittens compared to there.

Or was he swore at?
Or threatened with bodily harm?
Or threatened with death?
