Impersonators.

But judging by your IP here, you're part of the Veary group. I have this IP logged as other nicknames in my collection. So I've seen you around before ;)

Funny how these impersonators come from an IP that is located in Alabama, I just did a look-up of it and it doesn't appear to be the typical Chicago Vearie IP.

http://www.iplocation.net/index.php:
IP Address Country Region City ISP
98.81.92.227 United States Alabama Rogersville Hsv Adsl Cbb

This ip appears to be the one you use to host games like these spam lobbies. I saw this up today myself, and you continued to join my game and harass me advertising your domain, and the ip was the same.

Also I do not know this Tyler guy's ip-address, but anyone can make any assumption. His ip could be from Austrailia, or china, USA, etc., that does not mean he is in this "Vearie Group"

Also I am confused as how we stereotype those into the "Vearie Group". Is it for those who go against opinions of yours, or those who catch the things you do wrong before you try to cover them up? Perhaps it is all of the STRAT players and even some MPI players. If this is true, it looks like majority of BZ2 players are in the Vearie Group. I am also concerned as to how the group was even made as on all forum posts from here and BZU, it is clearly obvious that Vearie does not induce other players to join him and voice their opinions. They just voice their own opinions that seem to be in favor of Vearie's. In other words, they are people who simply do not agree with other people's views.

Being a player who plays BZ2 daily. I have seen Tyler around, but I have never even seen him in a game with the stereotyped "Vearie Group". I guess since I have played a game with Vearie, I must be a part of the group as well. Funny how we stereotype, and not stick to the facts.

Point is, I do not think it is possible for the Vearie, Tyler or anyone to proxy through your own IP address and host lobbies. I just do not see it.

Anyways Tyler, I do not believe it is possible to block his lobbies from showing. It is something you will just have to deal with.

I have to ask, why would they be advertising your site? I checked, that one is yours. It is not the one that belongs to the split that occurred in FTD.

Well that's possible, but I would think he would notice. Also, you didn't mention that before.

Alright thanks and I think they are all gone for now

And also, is there any kind of "report button" or something in case I see it happening again? Just wondering because it was pretty annoying lol :D

There's only a 'report' issue for posts/PMs on this board. Other boards may have similar, but not guaranteed.

Gamespy sessions aren't really moderated by anyone, and can't be. You can make requests here, but they're only going to be requests. I'd like to have the only spam session up in pb6+.

That IP tracker is not accurate. It had my IP yet it didnt have my exact description, like state is wrong and the city too.

This "lobby spam" was probably a fail of bz2.

Its not first time I see a host appearing about 60 times in the game-list.

-And: there is no way to host 2 games from the same IP I think.

It's certainly possible to start multiple copies of BZ2. Just change *Prefs.ini::GameBasePortNumber before launching. The different instances must have different GameBasePortNumber's to successfully host.

Cyber has a point. I've seen duplicates of the spam server before, once, it was like 6 copies of it.

Although it is true to have a glitch in qr2 and see multiple lobbies, usually they have the same server host name. However in this case you can see cases with different exclamation marks. I just wanted to make this point, however, I havent seen the lobbies since this day so it is definitely not an issue any more.
