btw, this is not a legal reason for not selling the game. it is a profitability reason.

activision would spend more money on web programmers and merchant fees to sell the game then what they would make off of it. we are a small community most of which already own the game. at best they would sell a copy or two a month. and at that for 5 bucks each. merchant fee's alone would cost 30 a month.

these numbers just are not anything a fortune 500 company would take time to blink at.

its all about profitability or not. best bet is to get gog to activision with a bunch of money, which will only be done if they get votes, the votes give them the proof that people are willing to buy it and be worth their investment.

If we made a new version that included the new patch, Forgotten Enemies, G66, Fleshstorm, Expansion pack and a few Recycler Variants, called it Battlezone II: Unlimited it might sell with the right advertisement.

No, it wouldn't. We don't have the right to do that.

It is indeed about profit, so the approach for a petition would need to go something like,
All those who have signed this petition swear to never buy another Activision/Atari/whoever product until Bz2 is released from its unjust imprisonment... :) Abandoning BZ2 would cost them very little. They may see that there is something to be gained by doing so. But frankly I don't see anyone getting more than about 100 sig's anyway, so it probably wouldn't work. You would need to get them to see a positive outcome from doing so.

Amazon has been sourcing rarer or older copies of games much more lately. They have a couple copies of brand new factory BZ2s left around. They weren't all bought and the remaining ones weren't destroyed, so it makes sense.
