Yes, they tried it but didn't find it interesting and left.

Tried it and fell in love with it, still playing to this day.

Interested, but not willing to buy a copy of the game over Ebay/Amazon.

Have you brought a friend or family member to Battlezone 2?

Hey guys, I'm sure we all at one point in time thought of bringing somebody we know into the game and seeing how they like it, have any of you had success stories? If something I listed in the poll doesn't describe your scenario just post below and I'll make sure I add it.

Yes, actually. A friend of mine introduced me to BZ2 back in '04, and of course I've been playing ever since. He lost his copy, so I gave him a copy of mine.

He still plays occasionally under the name lazymut, but I've not seen him on since a few weeks after the release of 5.1.

That's cool. Maybe your friend was just burnt out or something, we all get that feeling eventually and just need a little break.

I've been trying to get some of my friends into the game but they're not huge FPS/RTS fans and won't budge.

I got a friend to try it, but the disc he used didn't work and his mom's all tight up about viruses.
She was scared to let him download the latest patch as well.
Any time I see him he bugs me about it, but he just won't buy one off Ebay...

Yeah I got a friend into it, but for some reason his new damn computer won't run it or something. I think he just doesn't know what he's doing.

I got my bro, Labmice, into it. Now he's addicted. More than me...

I wondered how that guy knew so much for a newcomer.

I tried to get my nephew hooked on it but after a lacked out LAN multiplayer game he got frustrated and pretty much lost interest in BZII although he did help me test out an air DM that I created quite a while back. ;)

I got Judgemental addicted to it and now his wife hates me and he's gotten his grandson addicted to it. Additionally I've gotten my wife addicted to it, we both love the same mpi gameplay. Judgemental loves the strategy gameplay on 1.2, and sometimes play 1.3pb5.1. I had also gotten my brother to play it with me for about six months (Zippihippi, or DeathAngel) but he lost interest and is a tournament poker player here in the Dallas area.
Everyone else I've turned onto the game won't play it now, and there has been quite a few.

Still, getting Windy and Judgemental in on BZ2 is quite a success. Especially since the two of you (you and Windy) play almost every night.

I showed the game to my son. Before long he downloaded Blender and started modding.

Nice. We do need more modders in this community. It would definitely help in future and upcoming mods. I have been modding and map-making some but since I started and with more work coming for me lately I just haven't had the time to finish things yet.
