Re: Yet another blink topic!
There is only the one blink, so it cannot be different.
Re: Yet another blink topic!
There is no assault/combat blink. There's just blink.

I am talking about normal BZ2, no mods.
Re: Yet another blink topic!
Ammo consumption of blink changes when morphed.

How might one use blink well in a dog fight?

vary littel change mostly becouse ammo regerates at a diffrent speed when morphed.Zax wrote:Ammo consumption of blink changes when morphed.

No, no it does not. Other unit factors change, such as ammo capacity and regenerate rate at the unit level. No stock special has an Assault form.Zax wrote:Ammo consumption of blink changes when morphed.

I checked the DATA.pak, and there is no assault version of blink.

Re: Yet another blink topic!
I don't think there's ever been an assault blink. It's kind of confirmed after you try most specials out, and there's no difference between the combat and assault specials. Of course, in Assault mode, you do move slower overall, so that may hinder you AFTER you blink.
Re: Yet another blink topic!
I always assumed weapon ammo consumption increased rather than ammo capacity going down. That's kind of strange, really, as that would imply loss of mass when morphed. Biometal *rolleyes*
Re: Yet another blink topic!
Now that we have that confirmed, may I ask about blink strategies and how it might be effectively used in a dogfight?
Re: Yet another blink topic!
Blink in. Kill. Blink out.
Alternatively;
Blink in. Almost die. Blink out.

Re: Yet another blink topic!
Arguably the best way to use Blink in a dogfight is to use it to get out of said dogfight when things go... poorly.
If you're feeling confident you can use Blink's explosion to disrupt your opponent but that's tricky to do effectively, costs ammo and due to both Blink's design and a bug, costs you some health and disrupts you nearly as much.
Outside dogfighting, Blink allows near instant travel to respond to enemy attacks in a remote area or to order units around quickly. This still costs ammo though, and due to said bug, some health.
