Opinions on Why Battlezone 3 is unlikely.

I was reading GSH's post earlier and I thought he was very specific with why a "BZ3" is unlikely. I personally prefer sticking to the current Battlezone II game. However, it would be nice to see a continued story where BZ2 left off. Who knows what might of happened?
I suppose a fan-based continuation could be made using the current engine which would be nice to see, I'm sure it's possible. I suppose it would be looked at as another mod, but I'm sure it would be an interesting step for the Modding community.
Think about it:
- New SP
- New Variants
- New Objects/Configurations
- New AI/AI Plans
- Custom Pathing system
- New Map Variety
- New "Possible" Races
Post your opinions below, let me see what you think

I guess, but it would be nice to see what happens. Like a new campaign. "What happened after Braddock gain Power of Earth". or "How the Scions are doing with their new allies, are they still fighting?"

I had a storyline for post ISDF ending I would love to share with you sometime. I think it's pretty good but it was a bit odd.

The first of those two is called Apostles.

Perhaps a continuation mod could be made using the HD Mod assets once they're complete. That would have to be a community project though.
It's an interesting idea, to continue BZ2's stock storyline without adding new races or worlds. Imagine a return to Core, Mire and Bane in a new campaign with the original characters such as Shabayev, Cooke, Manson and even Braddock. If we could just find voice actors who were able to adequately copy their voices, that would be fantastic!
Perhaps it could be a double-mod with two storylines that each branch off from BZ2's different endings.
Forget the events of every single mod and just continue the original storyline. No Hadeans, Cerberi, QF, EDF or anything except the ISDF and Scions.
In the ISDF-ending story, Braddock takes control of the Earth, hell - the Universe!
In the Scion-ending, the internal divisions within the Scions bring them to a constant state of civil war - between Padishah Burns and the former Black-Dogs and the 'pure-blood Scion collective'.
The ISDF under General Manson could act as peace-keepers, welcomed by Burns but very much not by the pure-bloods.
Who needs crazy aliens for a fantastic story? It could be 100% Human & Scion.

If you're going to do that, you might as well elaborate on the main plot as well... so many disappointing loose ends.

It could be a sort of 'new start' mod, based entirely upon the canon universe's story with a fresh perspective about what could follow the events of BZ2. That could give a lot of room for interpretation and plot-hole filling. We could do absolutely anything that we wanted, free of constraint by the interpretations of other mods.

Of course there are plenty enough holes in areas not already explored by other mods. 100s of parallel stories. Etc.

Hmm well maybe when we all have some free time, we can talk about continuing it. I'm happy to voice act.
