I'm considering making a mod, but i don't really know what to add. So here's my question. What would you add to battlezone 2? (it could be aircraft, new races, units,
naval warfare, structures ect)

Well depends how much energy you want to put into it . a mod can be simple or very complex obviously .
I personally seen a lot of mods around bz2 and have quite a collection now ....seems many change the skins and odf's a bit but it seems super imposed over and over again

I really think it be nice to see battlezone go back to its roots where it began as tank war faire . different tanks ,also planes would be really nice...(bomber planes ) and escort planes for dog fights .....and yes choppers....( as either transport like apc and battle choppers for ground support ), turrets are nice ,gun towers a must ,just a few examples....dosent have to be 1940's ....if you like to add a futuristic looks is always welcome and refreshing .
in the end the look is important but not as much as movment weponds add to the effect its really pretty dynamic to make a mod and balance is critical to its survival utamitly .

i'm sure I haven't covered all the facets.... but yeah from the get go I always wanted to see something similar to todays armies ...while adding a bit of futuristic look and balance.

maps like ze mod creates the atmosphere also.

ups! forgot to add this
here is an example of what I ment by movment
mods we can make movment and balance between races are harder to achieve

dog fights get more intensive and realistic ...and hitting ground targets harder and more realistic also.

Seeing all the timeconsuming things above I'll just keep it simple. I want money! Preferably lots of it! 8-)

the topic could be moved to ---> Battlezone 2 Mod Making
there are a few other forums and battlezone related web pages that can be usfull also.
an example is Battlezone 2 Mod Development http://www.bz2md.com/smf2/index.php
just putting it out there since I don't know what your skills are ...and its nice to know help is just around the corner.

I'd say that the best thing to do is to really understand what BZ2 can do. Understand what it can do easily, what it can do with a bit of work, and what requires heroic efforts to get even somewhat close to what you want. If you understand those three categories, and work with those limits -- and not shoot for the moon, assuming that everyone who ever tried modding BZ2 before you is obviously incapable of making things happen -- you will be successful.

If you declare your goal before understanding things, you are in danger of this adage: "if you fail to plan, plan to fail."

If you want to know if something is possible, I can tell you if it is or isnt, and give you advice on how to go about doing it. :)

I went through the stage of wanting to make a mod, and I'm still in it a bit. A problem you must also face, even after considering if it's possible or not, is seeing if it is worth playing.
