If you have small groups of similar units that total less than or equal to 10:
you can press multiple Function Keys of them, then Ctrl+Function Key where you want to move them.

If you have units scattered in different groups:

1. Function Key where units are located
2. ~ will display list of units
3. Hold Shift while selecting individual units
4. Ctrl+Function Key of group you want to move them to

If you are placing units using the Editor:
there is a group entry box (1..10) there in the Object tab, Place mode.

Thanks, but I don't have them in any groups yet.
Built 8 turrets, a builder, several tanks, and can't build
Any more until I group some of these, and that I don't know how to do?
Do you?
Thanks

Anything in a F# category (e.g. F1, F2, ... F10) at the top of your screen is in a group. Items built are automatically grouped -- you can't build if no free groups. The F# is your group.

If you want to combine groups F1 and F2, you can press and release F1, then press and release control-F2. Or, when building, if you hold shift down when placing the recy/factory order to build, you can build multiple items in a row into the same group.

You press the F key of the group you want to move
then you press and hold the CRTL key and then the F key of the group you want to move a unit to.

So for example F1 then hold CTRL and press F2 to move units from group 1 to group 2.
Works even if the other group is empty.

If you want to move a single unit out of a group you press the F key of that group,
then the tilde ~ key to select a unit then the number of the unit you want to select.
Now you press the F key of the group you want to move to.

So for example F1 for group 1 then tilde ~ then 3 to select unit 3. Then F2 to move the unit to group 2.

also, if you're playing mpi and you don't anticipate any joiners, set the number of players to 1 to free up some groups.

if you have full groups, you can build only if there are groups with like units in them.

you can manually combine groups of unlike units.
