It could have to do with, back in 1.2, you could not choose which race you played as.

What can happen, both in IA and MP. When you select a race (or opponent race) then switch maps, it may switch the races. Maps have there own settings. Similar as setting the extra options, then switching maps.

Right. But when the race selection screen appears and has the four choices (EDF, Scion, Hadean, Cerberi) and I select Cerberi, it spawns me as a Scion instead.

Played an MPI w/ a friend as Cerberi VS. Hadean and noticed that the Surgeon was servicing the trees  The map was Alien Dunes.

Sometimes tracked units push other units away. With the clipping and tracked units not so easily being pushed aside it may from time to time create some strange side effects. Like an attack that is set to a stagepoint on the left of the map where an attacker comes from the right side of the map (it was likely pushed away by the previous attackers).

Try 1.2's AIP's in the later 1.3's for some funky '3 Atank' assaults ...

Claw has a hard time moving around; it switches stances repeatedly.

Also, are Demons now modified to only drop one drone at a time or...?

This might just be me, but a bz2 friend found a bug and I am not sure if its just us, but when ever we play together, and one of us needs to close our game, it crashes, or anything else that makes us leave the game, it won't let us back in unless we stop the game and start over, it says our assets differ. The only difference we have is that I am on xp and he is on 7. Just thought I would report this. Also you need to fix the claw. It glitches and spazzes to where ever you tell it to go to. Thats how it moves. Spazzing. Nothing else. Also sometimes you can snipe kruel, and sometimes you can't. Maybe because some are built and some are just spawned by, which brings me to the next point, how come sometimes when I face edf and scion there are hostile sirens, kruel, xypos. Why? Yes this is a beta, but I am not yelling saying WHY THE HELL IS THE GAME SO BROKEN OMG WJF0WERJFIWEJF0P. I am just letting you know.

I can't get this version of FE to set up properly. it prompts me to install to "I:" (wtf) and after I change it to a subdir in BZ2 I can't feed it the cfg file and have it work, even with the proper paths in a shortcut. it just starts stock bz2 every time. Does this have to be installed somewhere special? More instructions plz.

Going a bit OT for a sec, is there a working version of the Epic mod around? All I can find on bzscrap is a texture patch. I wan't to look at those carriers.

thanks,

you should be able to install it to a different drive and path by modifying the default path it gives you when installing. i had to format and reinstall windows recently, so i need to set up and revisit some things.

also, the installer should put a shortcut for FE in your start menu under Battlezone II.

It doesn't want to install a shortcut, and I already tried setting up an alternate path, which it won't recognize. I am trying to set this up on XP, where I have all the other bz2 stuff of mine. What is this installer built with?

Looking in the CFG, it looks like all the @rootdir paths are right, for some odd reason bz2 just is not picking up on this config file or the FE pak, it just loads stock assets, whether I launch from a shortcut or from a CMD shell.

if you aren't already, i'm wondering if you need to run the installer as admin. also, whenever i need to check if bz2 is using the install i'm thinking it's using, i copy a stock startup odf like the recycler to the target install and change the unitName to "XXXXXXXX". can't tell you how chagrined/mad at myself i have been after discovering i was using the wrong shortcut or something to that effect.
