Confused? you should be. Have any of you actually considered how utterly confused end users are going to be by there being two FE 1.3 projects?

I'd have said the differences between them are made relatively clear. In that one specifically points out it currently has only two missions.

End users won't know, they will be loading both, mal-patching both and generally cursing all of you for complicating things by the power of 2...

That suggests you haven't even looked at the BZRDL version. It comes as a self-updating package that doesn't go anywhere near any existing mods, making it somewhat difficult to mistake for RD's version.

I have not been involved in either project and have no opinions on either of them. I am just pointing out that the end users are going to be very irritated by the existence of two different FE1.3's. Most of them struggle with updates to stock bz2, let alone a twin set of mods and all their incompatible updates too....=fail.

N1, I aplaude you for trying to make a better working FE for 1.3.
That being said, is it too much to ask to just keep the 2 seperated in their own topics and find the bit of respect for each other by not plugging each version in the others topic?

I'm not blaming anyone. I know what all of you are like My best suggestion is that one project develops a Name that makes it clearly distinguishable from the other.

Unless you are suggesting the (rather important) FE part be abandoned, then that has already been done.

I think he means that N1's project is not calling itself 'Forgotten Enemies', nor has the arrogance to do that. N1's project is called FE:Redux, which is basically a 're-factoring' of FE, with an aim to preserve authenticity towards the original feel and design, which is a laudable aim.
I'd be satisfied enough calling the projects RDFE (or FE13 if pressed), and FE:Redux, or simply 'redux' for short.
