Heh, doesn't surprise me. I don't think the UEP will be worked on again I don't think.. Not that it matters, I only use it for LMM now and maybe some fun with TJ's variant, but that's about it.

Fax/Daz/X are probably a griefer, all their nicks are typed with the left hand which is indicative of someone just cranking out a few random-ish letters on their keyboard and hitting the login button.

I can't match the IP to anyone who I know (though said person could be using a VPN). If it's Vearie that is suspected, I should say that it's not really his style to lag and crash games (especially if it's a strat game) deliberately, and furthermore when he does grief its usually in the form of messing with people, ie: using tugs to capture commanders and doing funny things with thug recyclers; as opposed to doing something completely senseless like crashing games. If it isnt worth putting on a youtube video, then Vearie wouldnt do it.

I wouldnt mind tracking this mystery person down and getting to the bottom of it myself. If someone is affecting games like this and compromising the experience of nearly everyone, then it is a big deal.

Posting a log. SUB-0 had an MPI up ... server started. I had to quit 2 min into. Then back in. It said 'connection refused'. After about the 3rd try, I was able to get back in but bzone would crash upon entering. Below is my log:

Ug, more memory hackers probably. The act of doing so massively destabilizes the game and its a wonder such people can stay in the game session long enough to break things that bad.

Maybe we need a honeypot?

Also, people can be kicked by ID numbers, thank god.

There could be a new asset exploit too, we just need very precise descriptions from people and logs to know.

I've seen this happen from completely innocent people that i'm playing with (bz2rules, and JM). It seems to have to do with whatever is causing the unusual (asset related? lag).

I searched facebook top to bottom. There are no community pages devoted to Battlezone II...
I figured i'd make one we could all use just to let others know when we're on...
I believe its better then posting in the forums but that might just be me...

Weird. More and more I am getting an error upon entering games (BZ2 internal error). I'm using a stock 1.3 install with PB6.3, when I click 'enter game' I get an error. Last game was a DM (with bots and animals with many ships to select from), the enter game button wouldn't show up even though server status said 'in game for 28 minutes, 'not in shell'' I exited, rejoined then the 'enter game button finally appeared'. I get error trying to join though. People in game get messages about me being 'laggy' 'attempting to unlag' etc. I was able to successfully join using an ISDF scout (twice), problem happened the 1st and second attempt selecting the avenger as a ship. When I joined successfully as a scout, I quit and tried to duplicate error but could no longer see games via raknet. Exited, back in, still no games, then after a few refreshes is eventually came back up. Seems to happen if I quit or error out, like raknet has a timeout period where it will no longer display the game you were in for a set time. Rejoined as an avenger, 'BZ2 internal error again'. i also get that error when trying to join some people's servers, too (mostly after people have lagged out of the game), but not all:
