DO NOT DO THIS

Do not hand out replacement patch13.pak files. That's a great way to get bad assets as soon as a new full build comes out. You need to learn that the .pak files must be treated as read-only.

As we keep trying to tell you, distribute the loose .aip files, in a way that installs them under addon\aips.

Wow...

Here's instructions on how to distribute your AIP files.

1: Make .AIP files.
2: Make a .autoreg file for your AIP files.
3: Go to My Documents, make a new folder.
4: Inside the new folder, make a folder called "addon".
5: Inside the addon folder, make two folders, named "AIPs" and "autoreg".
6: Place the AIPs in the AIP folder, and the .autoreg in the autoreg folder.
7: Back up to the new folder you made in your documents.
8: Right click on addon folder.
9: Zip/Compress this folder.
10: Rename the zip to whatever you want.
11: Upload zip someplace.
12: Link the zip and tell people to unzip to root.

And dont feel too bad, your only the 2nd person to make this mistake.

I gave the Fpatch13.pak with all the AIPS incorporated already. If they keep the original, nothing wrong will happen. If I do what you said, where is the link to my AIP (in aiplist.txt it should have been normally) and where is my AIP description?

Just open an existing one via notepad and edit it and save it under a different name

There is no more aiplist.txt, that does not exist anymore.

go look in Battlezone II/maps13/autoreg/ folder and look at an aip autoreg.

Make one for your AIPs

So annoying to speak with you, when your information is not complete!

How does the autoreg work?
How to unzip to root?
Where is this "root"? In the pack exporter-pack13.pak?
I've put the zip (imported it) in root from pack13.pak and doesn't work.

Please give CLEAR and COMPLETE answers!

Exactly, half the questions you just made could be answered by a simple google-search.
I think you dont seem to realise that modding is not just changing some parameters and than distributing it without realising what a mess you're about to make of other people's games.
Modding takes a lot of time, first of all cause you need to do your homework, secondly cause you need to do a mountain of testing, thrirdly cause you have to make sure that you do not cause grief to users by causing bad assets.

You can call yourself very lucky that GBD has already given you so much info, I would not have done so. It seems you're hellbend on releasing what you've made, while you clearly show you have no idea what you're doing. Which is extremelly poor advertising for your mod.

Pretty much everything you need to know can be found in the modlogs, or by checking how other mods do it, other things can be googled and for the rest modding is often nothing more than trial & error (again going back to the mountain of work statement).

I gave not created a mod, just a good AIP that I cannot use it otherwise than implanting it in pack13.pak.

Writing AIPs is a form of modding. That said, you're using the most lazy, obvious solution. I cant blame you for it since the knowledge of how to make your AIPs fit in with stock BZ2 is unintuitive, but you should really look at doing it the proper way.

For example, I made a bunch of AIP files which I put somewhere in maps13 (like /maps13/ZA's AIPs):

Code: Select all

vsraff0.aip  vsraffa.aip  vsrafi0.aip  vsrafia.aip  vsraif0.aip  vsraifa.aip  vsraii0.aip  vsraiia.aip
vsraff1.aip  vsraffl.aip  vsrafi1.aip  vsrafil.aip  vsraif1.aip  vsraifl.aip  vsraii1.aip  vsraiil.aip
vsraff3.aip  vsraffs.aip  vsrafi3.aip  vsrafis.aip  vsraif3.aip  vsraifs.aip  vsraii3.aip  vsraiis.aip
Then from there I created a blank text file /maps13/autoreg/aip_vsra.autoreg

I opened it in notepad and put in the following text

Code: Select all

[AIPList]
ODFName = "vsra"
Description = "VSR Testing AIPs"

[IAAIPList]
ODFName = "vsra"
Description = "VSR Testing AIPs"
At this point my AIPs were selectable in 1.3 MPI and IA modes.

For yourself, you should do something similar.
Regulators
Regulate any stealin' of this biometal pool, we're damn good, too
But you can't be any geek off the street
Gotta be handy with the chains if you know what I mean

You're making it sound as if it is difficult to figure this out, which it isnt since there are atm several good examples floating around and Protector has even been pointed towards them.
Handing Protector everything he needs on a silver plater wont help him or yourself as he'll just learns to mod by asking for everything.

I told you a month ago to park your changed files under addon, and not edit a .pak file. What of that advice was unclear?

They are self explanitory. I told you where the stock .autoreg files were so you could go, copy one, paste it in your custom whatever folder and open it with notepad and edit it to your liking.

unzip to root.

Uncompress the .zip to the battlezone II folder, root implying NOT within any sub folders such as addon.

It's clear your not familiar with zip files. So, here goes random detailed instructions:

http://www.7-zip.org install that.

Right click on a folder > 7-zip > compress to "foldername.7z". This is how you make a zip.

Open a zip file, hit "extract", select a folder, press okay. OR select everything and drag+drop to a folder. This is how you extract it.
