Battlezone II v1.3.7.2 Public Beta released

Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to announce that the Battlezone 2 patch version 1.3.7.2 Public Beta has been released. You can download it from here:
- Installer
- DLL Source (for modders only)
- Mod data (source assets (.xsi, etc) for modders only)

Major features of v1.3.7.2 Public Beta:
- "3D" audio through Microsoft's XAudio2 layer is supported, for greater audio immersion.
- Various network stability improvements -- better join stability and fewer resyncs ingame.
- Various other bugfixes and optimizations.
- New installer that allows for more granular control over what helper libraries are installed, etc.

Compatibility notes
As Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and their compiler teams, 1.3.7.0 (and up) now requires Windows Vista/7/8.x/10 (or newer). Some people have noted success with Linux+WINE for systems that had XP. Additionally, a CPU supporting SSE2 is now required.

While playing an IA game in full screen, then using alt+enter to switch to windowed mode and back, causes the windows cursor to appear in game.

Axe discovered last night that Arc Stream can't kill an extractor now, probably due to the Arc Stream/terrain fix.

Hm... I know preordnancehit doesn't trigger for terrain owning buildings, and terrainfindfloor gets the height of a terrain owning building's collision. Maybe it's considering them to be terrain too?

Commando's crash noted above might have been caused by ASUS Sonic Studios's overlay. If you are having issues in BZ2 that aren't seen by others, please try validating that all software installed is up to date. Or, if you're not using pieces of software, try uninstalling them.

More a question than a heads-up. Wouldnt it work if people encountering unexplained crashes to do a clean-boot and see if they can reproduce it?
It is what I do when programs give me issues and it more often than not allows me to find the problem. Though that is usually with 'final versions' of programs that receive no support any more.
