Why are the umlaut(e) 's in PB6 disabled?
Ö,Ü,Ä; which you can also find on the german keyboard
(In 5.1 they were working in chat, but not as nickname)

You can still make them, even a "ringel S" can be made. Just when you press enter it doesnt add them to the text.
White in German (weiß) shows as "wei" after pressing enter

Try using the ASCII (ALT+#) codes. They still won't work completely.

ctrl+alt+s = ringel S (ß)
ctrl+alt+q = ä
ctrl+alt+p = ö
These dont work.

Try these;
Alt+225 for ß
Alt+132 for ä
Alt+148 for ö
Downside is that each character has a different code in each case.

You try that ingame
Wether it works or not is kind of pointless, you simply dont use them like that.
(I havent used that method for I guess since the release of BZ2
)

It's not, it's like speaking without using capital letters. lazy, but still readable. most people will still understand what the word means given its context.

BZ2 is not really unicode. Our localization system is utter garbage, compared to the better systems that later games from Pandemic used. Redoing this area is something I'd like to eventually do, but for now, BZ2 is effectively 7-bit ascii. Sorry. Deal with it.
