Menu issue

Post by Feldheld »

1. When I configure a MPI game I usually set the unit limit value to something like 70 (not sure whats the point of the relatively low default limit of 30 units BTW). When clicking on any other button after this, for instance "respawning /w sniper", a warning message window pops up, and when I click it away both the "off" and "on" buttons are highlighted, but in game the sniper respawn will not be activated.

2. The "pilot lifespan" entry field allows only the input of 2 digits.

As for the 89e patch, Ive played a few MPI, everything worked well but I never had many joiners yet, two at most.

For reference to the unit limit. A unit limit of 30 is per player, meaning in a full MPI it is 150. Many people just set it to 0 (none), I do, but it might be better to try different numbers till one finds what is the best for lag. More units, more calculations, more lag.

For point 1, did you try clicking on the On or Off button while both were highlighted? Sounds like the unit limit warning box click-jacked you there. Press Enter/Return after entering the unit limit to apply it and cause that warning to pop up without stealing focus mid click on another button. I suspect the interface set the button as active but the click event never made it to the ivar setting since the warning window took over.

Go pull out your BZ2 box, and read the system specs. BZ2 1.0 had to run on a Pentium 166, 64MB RAM. Even though you can't buy a new version of Microsoft Windows in 2011 that runs on such a system, BZ2 still had to fit on them.
