Re: The Red Odyssey
D3D just means hardware mode, and technically yes it's compatible, but depending on your system you might have to do a lot of messing around.

Re: The Red Odyssey
On top of that there are the ones for opening IA maps, or specific missions....
What command line switches would you need besides:
/win
/nointro
/d3d
(unless you were map editing...or playing IA maps)

Why would you want that?Red Devil wrote:one to set resolution would be nice
It's already in the game's options,
and remains at that res unless you
change it or the game crashes.

Re: The Red Odyssey
just wondering if there is one; must be hard-coded in TRO since it only gives me choices for 640/800/1024/1280.
Re: The Red Odyssey
BZ 1.4 and TRO use a pre-defined list of resolutions (400x300, 512x384, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200), while BZ 1.5 and BZE 1.3 ask D3D for the list of resolutions. The downside is that D3D provides a lot more resolutions so picking a resolution in the graphic options dialog is much more annoying.

Re: The Red Odyssey
I'm not sure if I follow. How is typing in a command line res less of a hassle than picking a res from a list, albeit somewhat large?Ultraken wrote:The downside is that D3D provides a lot more resolutions so picking a resolution in the graphic options dialog is much more annoying.
Re: The Red Odyssey
I was comparing it against the original much-shorter list, and it's annoying only because there's no back button if you go past the resolution you want. What it really needs is a list box or combo box.

so a shell rework is in progress? great, glad to hear it, lemme know when you're done...Ultraken wrote:I was comparing it against the original much-shorter list, and it's annoying only because there's no back button if you go past the resolution you want. Yyyeah... I'll get right on that.
