Some sounds not playing

Post by Ded10c »

Installed 1.0 from disk, patched to 1.4, patched to 1.5.

Game works fine, but some sounds refuse to play. Not even sure if they're present or not. Played the training mission to test, and shell sounds, mission voiceovers, and the minigun fire sound all refuse to work.

What OS are you using?
Are the sounds in options set to atleast level 2?

Using W764, so BZ is giving me an awful lot of grief (currently trying to get TRO to work in hardware mode). Sound levels are all set to maximum.

Tried changing all the sound settings before I came here. No dice.

Ok, try some other versions and see if you have sound.
BzE or the 1.4 update at Bzclub, if they have sound and 1.5 doesn't, try and older 1.5 version and see if you can find which version started having this issue.

1.0 and 1.4 both refuse to launch. The issue occurs with all 1.5 versions, and TRO when run in sw mode.

I think BZ will just have to go on my legacy R-pi, when it arrives.

1.0?
The refuse to start because you need to make a dep exception. Also if you already crashed rename the executable to something else.

*headdesk*

All the way through, I was thinking "I'm sure this used to work," and "Did I forget something?" Going to install a bunch of copies and try them.

EDIT: Never mind that. 1.0 and 1.4 both UE.

Unfortunately Win7 redirects registry entries for setting the dep from the installer, which makes it not work. Smart Microsoft very smart. $300 piece of @#$@!

Yes. UEs all round, both hardware and software mode. TRO works in software mode, though, and it suffers from the sound issue as well.

Rename the exec., dep them and run.
If TRO has no sound then it's probably a driver issue on your system.
