See here for the download. From his master page, Carey says:

I just uploaded never-before-heard test tracks I wrote during the production of Battlezone 1. Before a composer was selected for that project, I wrote 3 tracks to play to hear as ambient background music for our inspiration. These tracks are somewhat vintage and were created off of my very early sample library, so they do not have the quality of samples that my current work does. Regardless, enjoy!

I downloaded and listened to these, and while they don't sound bad, they really don't sound like Battlezone music to me, either.

The music from The Red Odyssey - now THERE was some Battlezone music!

Considering this is the same composer as BZ2, they sound much closer to that. But I do think that TRO's music was far better than BZ1's.

i prefer Jeehun Hwang he got an award for his Mechwarrior 2 music (best game music of the year or something).

I love most of his music, especially Heavy Gear, but the BZ soundtrack just doesn't sound right to me. I have no idea what it is - it's good music, it fits the atmosphere - but there's something just *off* about it. TRO doesn't get that.

Someday I'll open Cubase and transpose the BZ1 soundtrack and figure out why I don't like it. That day is not today.

I love the TRO soundtrack but the BZ1 soundtrack is so nostalgic to me. BZ2's soundtrack was good yet very...forgettable. No offense to the makers

Listen to INTRO.mp3 in the BZ2 pack and you'll find that may not be so

Music in games is meant to not be noticed until missed (unless played independently).
