It's all the texture borders, flipped and rotated, between the textures. Also, the textures (0-15 by byte space) are the shades of blue.

It's nice seeing something useful come of my documentation efforts. :)

This particular map (multdm13) has messed-up lava border tiles which makes it harder to grasp what's going on. Check out the largemap image to see what i mean.

Well, 1 thing I can do is load all the textures onto a web-server and generate a google maps interface compatible map definition and allow you to look at the maps (might be useful for AHadley's Wiki). With mission scripting we could make user positions be logged for some nice 'action map' stuff in a video (or even live).

The data can be used to fix maps or edit them outside of BZ1, and possible as a step in getting a faithful reproduction of the maps in BZ2.

It could be used in an out of game server browser.

Also it looks cool.

And you can probably use it, when it is done, to turn maps into wallpapers.

That looks kind of snazzy, though I think I'd put a small logo in the middle (red) wing section.

If you have some graphic talent, i'd like to see you or someone do some work on the original all red skins to see if you can improve the red to black shading, on some of those models, things do not look too good in 8 bit red, in particular larger stuff like the MUF and Recycler look pretty junky. i tried this, but I am no Photoshop expert, and didn't get very far, maybe someone experienced in working with hi-color skins, as for bz2, would know some more tricks than I do.

I like the look of my RW Fighter, Turret, Light Tank, Walker and pilot, but the tank, apc and the rocket tank could sure use some work as well.

Maybe if the substandard skins could be brought up to spec we could convince UltraKen to include RW assets as stock in the 1.5 patch. :)

Made a mockup EDF Red Wolf squadron for potential appearance in CP2 a few hours ago... the Recycler pad looks damn cool with a big Red Wolf emblem in the middle.

I've had some success. The JPG is actual size of output, but as the PNG is over 200MB the PNG I am linking is a quarter the size. The JPG is quality level ZERO, he lowest I could get.

Both are around 13-15MB

The jpg file might cause a browser crash, so don't view it if you really dont want to risk your browser crashing at the moment.

Impressive. Bar the extra rows and columns where the original cut off, that's a perfect match.

This is the full set of all materials on the map in their exact allocations. That other render from the game might have been otherwise restricted. Perhaps BZ1 also uses an edge_path?
