Battlezone 1 archives available

Post by deadscion »

I recently uploaded everything I ever collected in BZ1 and BZ2 and wanted to make it available to everyone.

I'd like to add to the list another sizable collection of maps.

ssuser is contributing some unreleased IA maps from his archives on a bi-weekly basis. Every two weeks he'll send me a couple more. You can get those here.

I also have a nice collection of strat maps, dm maps, and other IA maps.
I also have one that was created specifically for BzE. I'm missing some IA maps that Lil Stealth made a while back. If anyone has those, PM me.

Sorry I haven't really gotten around to cleaning them up, checking for duplicates, or renaming all of them properly. It's on my to-do list, but apparently not close to the top.

Are there any RO IA missions?
I'd like some Chinese IA Missions...

I don't recall ever seeing any RO-specific IA missions.

However, BZE has two home-made SP missions...One is a BlackDog mission and the other is Chinese. They are similar to one another and take place on the same map, and provide a bit of a challenge.

I don't want to get BZE, but can is it possible to give me the Chinese mission as an IA mission?
I just want a Chinese IA Mission.

Why not? I got it a few weeks ago, it's damn good.

Most of the bug fixes that 1.4 never had, a ton of extra MP maps that include special units (check out the Birds of Prey maps and the BZ2 maps), encrypted assets to prevent hacking, plus the ability to play NSDF, Black Dog, Russian, or Chinese units in MP.
...Ah hell, here, I'll post the changelog.

...ok I can't find the changelog
This version adds the new shell and a new Chinese single player mission.

Bz Enhanced 1.3 is more stable, has more bug fixes, broadband play
(i think this has been reverted to the 56k original version in RC4)
, an observer craft is available for the stock maps, Blackdog skins have been added, anet has been updated. Balance issues have been worked on and strat had some major fixes.

Bz Enhanced 1.3 is based on BattleZone while attemping to seperate the old stuff from the new. Bz Enhanced 1.3 adds such things as Chinese and ISDF races, new planets, maps, expanded editor, bug fixes and new features such as more host controls and higher bandwidth for reduced lag online. New security features such as Anti-Poser in game, full asset checking, asset encryption and passwords are no longer in readable form. For more information please read the "ChangeLog.rtf" in the install folder.

Promoting Bz Enhanced:
I personally don't promote BzE, I will stick to what i do best and continue working on future versions of BzE, so you have to decide, if you like it and want to see it continue, feel free to promote it yourself. All i ask is that web masters link to this site instead or mirroring or hot linking to the files. Code or asset updates can occure at anytime.

Requirements:
Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7
64MB of ram
Video card with 32MB of memory
Network Play: IPX /TCP Lan or Broadband (Use TCP for Vista and Win 7)

Modding:
New Instant Action missions may be created along with Multiplayer maps.
New vehicles and structures may be added without causing a version mismatch.
The Editor Menu has been expanded to include most objects in the game.
Testdm maps have the full races on them for ease of testing. (See "Test maps.txt" in the /Edit/tools/ folder)
3D Studio Max plugins for max 3.x through 10.x and other tools... (See /Edit/3D Party Tools/ folder)
Also:
No, I can't give you the Chinese mission as it's an integrated SP mission. It's just one, but why not add BzE to your collection? :D

Because I'm done downloading mods for a while.
I would make an exception for a single Chinese IA mission.

Well it's only somewhere in the neighbourhood of 88MB. Plus it's a standalone and doesn't need to install to an existing directory. Your choice. I have never seen RO-specific IA missions and my collection is pretty thorough.
