Slaor is still with us only in spiritual form now. We miss him just the same though.

How did I miss this topic? Slaor's gone? He can't be...
RIP bro, I miss you ;_;

Re: Slaor, R.I.P.
You have posted that in every topic I've looked in so far today. Find somewhere appropriate for your baggage and leave it there, don't drag it into here. Not appropriate.

Only just noticed this. Can't express how much it saddens me. Probably my most admired member of the community.
I hope his work and legacy manages to live on. He was an incredibly talented guy.

Re: Slaor, R.I.P.
I was just looking for my late night buddy. It would go months, sometimes years between conversations but we would pick up just like it was yesterday. I would be getting ready for bed after an afternoon turn and you would be talking about surfing... LOL. You were homeless for awhile and led a crusade for homeless folks the last time I talked to you. You were something else. I'm sitting at my laptop with tears in my eyes now that I heard you are gone. I never met you in person but just the same you were my brother. So many late nights with you, Chris(pastell), Mark(lizard), Bob(Bser), zeeder(can't remember your name), and the fleshstorm guy(LOL), and fogive me if I forget others, but it was a full time job on top of a full time job. But it was so much more than just making a game. We kinda lost Chris after the 9-11 thing. I talked to him maybe twice after that happened. It really affected him. but I would hop on yahoo and andy and I would pick up like it was yesterday. I didn't know crap about programming, but I had a knack for figuring things out...Andy would give me a job to do and I would just keep digging till I could figure it out. We made things happen that maybe weren't supposed to happen with that game engine...we exploited it so to speak. Dammit, I miss my friend. This was a hard thing to find out...I know it's been about a year since I talked to you but Andy, I will miss you.

but more than that, he was/is a really good guy.
If given the truth, the people can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts - and beer.

Of course, but Golem is less likely to fully grasp that having never encountered him.

I concur, I never knew the guy, or heard of him until now, but R.I.P. - my condolences for those who knew him, and knew him well.AHadley wrote:Of course, but Golem is less likely to fully grasp that having never encountered him.
