Black Mesa: Source

Post by Feldheld »

Stumbled over a youtube walkthrough of this source mod the other day which is a very accurate and extremely well done remake of the original Half-Life campaign.

Believe me, it's even better than the original. Like a hour long blowjob for your eyes, ears and fingers. Didnt have as much fun playing a game in years.

Go play and thank me later :)

(It's stand alone, no HL2 needed, you need Steam to play though)

I like the mod, it looks and sounds good, and the gameplay is fun.

Not quite standalone; you need the Source SDK, which comes with most Source games.

Heh, didnt see no such thread on the first page (and other threads dating back to april) so I thought ... well whatever.

True, you need the SDK, but youre independent of anything you'd have to pay for. So everybody can play it for free.

Aah, they've released the SDK independently at last. Nice.

This is a wonderful mod, and I can't wait for Xen to be released.

Fingers crossed that it's as good as the rest of the gmae.

They should sell it via steam. And then do remakes of all the addons. Im sure it would sell well.

They can't, that's illegal.

It's supposed to be on Steam, as it was Greenlit. But they can't sell it.

It will be on Steam once the developers and Valve agree on everything; AFAIK the developers are holding back until the release of Xen and BSDM. (I just noticed how inconvenient that acronym is.)
