The republican judge said that he himself will meet the enemy, “in front of their armored personnel carriers” to tell them they are not welcome, and has the county sheriff to back him up. “I don’t want U.N. troops in Lubbock County,” he said.
I don't even-

Yes, he's hallucinating. As if Obama commanded the UN or the UN even gave a hoot about some pathetic political game in Lubbock county. Like they are some massive army that goes round occupying super power nations just because they are invited to. The judge needs a doctor and Lubbock county needs a judge who is not suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. It looks to me the republican party need to start doing routine mental health checks on all their candidates, having a president with dark curly hair seems to have seriously dislocated the world perceptions of quite a few.

Actually theres one thing I agree with on that platform
AUDIT THE FED. The pet project of Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) to audit the Federal Reserve has now been embraced as an official Republican goal. For the first time, the platform calls for an annual audit of the Federal Reserve.
That's actually pretty good. The Federal Reserve is a private company but due to how reliant that the US govt is on the Fed, it makes good sense to make sure that it gets audited to discourage against inethical behavior.

Don't know much about the Fed, what I do know is that politicians are usually not stupid (maybe mad but not stupid), and if they go about making obviously ridiculous statements, it is because they are trying to draw attention away from something else. Clearly this guy is so worried about something that making himself look like a loony seems like a good plan. Desperate stuff for a politician.
Unethical behaviour, requires a general consensus on what is ethical to start with. Seems to me the US political system does not have that.

The most important thing you need to know about the fed is it's printing money from nowhere to buy the government debt that nobody else will. They may make noise, but the politicians know that without this torrent of free money from nowhere, the government is insolvent.

Well they're not alone in doing that, our government has been doing the same thing. Its almost clever, that way they get to tax the whole world, by devaluing their currency. Its so much easier than rejigging the economy so that people can make an honest profit that they could then tax properly. Keeps the rich happy and the poor poor, got to bear in mind that due to global economic factors, devaluation was going to happen anyway. The danger of it, is that they might get the idea they can just carry on doing it, rather than biting the bullet and taking drastic action to make our economies efficient and competitive again.
